BEANY ‘CHOC’ BALLS
- Replies 7
Today's recipe is thanks to Ash! She's been making these for her family, and it's a total winner.
Now, I realise this is a recipe site called 'baby food bible', but Ash and I make their recipes for ourselves all the time. It's great for healthy ingredient recipes!

Here's the recipe!
These balls are not just your average chocolate ball.. they are filled with so much beautiful goodness, with the hero ingredients being black beans and tahini! We love that black beans for their beautiful iron content, and tahibi for the rich source of plant-based calcium. These are sweetened with dates and too good not to try, the whole family will love these!
RECIPE:
½ cup rolled oats
1 can black beans, rinsed and drained
½ cup tahini
9 medjool dates, pitted
¼ cup raw cacao powder
1 TBS hemp seeds
1 tsp vanilla
Pinch of sea salt (an important ingredient for taste when using cacao!)
2 squares dark chocolate of choice (a carob bear is also a great melted on top)
Simply blend all ingredients until well combined in a food processor (blend works too but i would recommend doing it in two lots by halving the batch).
Roll into small balls, approximately 20, then coat with with dark chocolate of choice (carob is great too).
Set in the freezer for a few hours. You can either store these in the fridge or freezer. We prefer freezer as it lasts longer, but when you are serving them give them about 5-10 minutes to defrost before serving up.
Enjoy!

Tip
ALDI is one of the cheapest places to buy good-quality dates.
