Remember when beach inspectors roamed Aussie shores, ensuring everyone was covered up—at least three inches long in the leg and body covered to the armpits? Hard to imagine now, right? But in 1952, Paula Stafford's bikini caused quite a stir, breaking the strict swimwear rules. Share your memories of those days here.

Actually it only a matterof what percieved fashion dictates. I actually believe this 2 piece bkini was quite complimentary and feminine. Its only a matter of one of the superstars or models promoting it again. In this day & bikiniAs are much more sexually motivated
 
I was only 12 and not long out of those revolting wool type bathers that just about stretched to your knees when wet. But I few years later dared to show my belly button, my dad was horrified.
 
In Perth, there is a Locality called Canning Bridge where I was Born and raised. As a youngster if you wanted a Swim in summer, you simply took off your Clothes and swam " Starkers". It was such a freedom of feeling.
