Balancing The Budget!
A politician was visiting the President of an impoverished neighbouring country.
He noticed that the President had a big house and two luxury cars.
He asked him, “Your country is so poor, and your people live in absolute poverty...
How is it that you own so much?”.
The President took his guest on a short drive and said,
"Do you see that ten-lane highway over there?".
The visiting politician said, “Yes”.
The President said, “Well, the budget was actually for a twelve-lane highway.”
A couple of years later, the same politician was visiting the country again and met the same President.
He was shocked to see that the President now had three massive palaces and a fleet of luxury cars.
He asked the President how he had gained so much in such a short time.
The President took him to the Penthouse Roof Garden of his tallest palace, pointed out and said,
"Do you see that fifteen-lane highway over there?".
The visiting politician said, “No. I don't see it.”
The President said, “Neither do I”.
