Baked Custard

Omg every time I make this it takes me back to my childhood and Nan's baked custard.
Serves 6

Ingredients
6 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla essence
1/3 cup caster sugar
4 cups of hot milk
Ground nutmeg
Method
Preheat oven 180°C or 160°C fan-forced
1. Whisk eggs, vanilla essence and sugar together in a bowl.
2. Gradually whisk milk into egg mixture.
3. Pour into a lightly greased oven dish ( 6 cup capacity) sprinkle with nutmeg
4. Place dish into a larger baking dish and pour boiling water into it until it comes half way up the side.
5. Bake uncovered in oven for 45 minutes or until custard is firm
Store covered in fridge
Can be made day before
Not suitable to freeze
