Let's face it, most people love a good steak. But why stop there? Why not take it up a notch by wrapping it in bacon? If you’ve been meaning to treat yourself to a mouthwatering dish for dinner, then this is for you. This recipe is sure to excite your taste buds and have you coming back for more. Savoury beef wrapped in bacon, smothered in garlic mushrooms and spinach – what's not to love?
Here are the ingredients you need:
1. 4 streaky bacon rashers
2. 4 beef fillet steaks
3. 100 grams of garlic butter
4. 500 grams of mushrooms, thickly sliced
5. 120g of baby spinach
Start by preheating the oven to 220 degrees Celsius. Wrap a piece of bacon around the side of each beef steak and secure it with toothpicks.
In a large non-stick frying pan over medium-high heat, cook the steaks for about a min each side or until browned all over. Transfer the beef steaks to a roasting pan before popping them in the oven for 6 minutes (if you’re going for medium-rare) or until cooked to your liking. Cover the pan with foil and set aside for 5 minutes to rest.
Meanwhile, melt the garlic butter in a large frying pan over medium heat. Add the mushroom and cook for 5 minutes. Then, add the spinach and cook until it wilts. Season with salt and pepper.
Remove toothpicks carefully and divide steaks among serving plates. Spoon over the mushroom mixture as well as the pan juices. Yummy and easy!
