Baby swans in peril
Here in my town which is Busselton in Western Australia we are being urged to be on the lookout for baby swan cygnets because now that our wetland areas are drying up the adult swans are flying away and leaving their babies to die and what is happening is that they are walking towards the sea, there is no food there for them. Six were found yesterday after walking several kilometres to the sea and their feet were burnt from the hot roads. These birds will die unless they are rescued and FAWNA are collecting them and are keeping them in enclosures until they can fly. Last year over 100 birds were saved by FAWNA. The FAWNA number to call is 0438526660
