Australia Post has just unveiled a delightful new stamp collection that will tug at the heartstrings of your family's young ones and the young at heart.

The Kids’ Showtime Greats stamp collection is a vibrant homage to some of Australia's most cherished children's film and television shows, capturing the essence of Aussie childhood for generations.

This exclusive collection features iconic characters and shows that have become staples in Australian pop culture.

From the adventurous escapades of Skippy the Bush Kangaroo to the whimsical twists of Round the Twist and the animated antics of Blinky Bill, these stamps are a colourful tribute to the stories that have shaped our nation's identity.

The collection spans five decades of film and TV, including the charming 'Dot and the Kangaroo' and the internationally acclaimed Babe, which won hearts and an Oscar nomination for Best Picture.

Each stamp is a miniature piece of art, capturing the spirit and nostalgia of these timeless classics.

Josh Bannister, Australia Post Executive General Manager Retail, expressed his excitement about the launch:

'The Kids’ Showtime Greats stamp range is a colourful tribute to some of the most iconic children’s films and television to come out of Australia.’

‘For many Australians, this range will be a sentimental throwback to their childhood, bringing back memories of watching these “Showtime Greats’ with friends and family.”’

Jenny Buckland, CEO of the Australian Children's Television Foundation, highlighted the cultural significance of these shows:

'Australia has a long-standing tradition of producing unique and distinctive children’s screen content, which contributes to our cultural identity and shared collective memories and bonds us.'

The collection also celebrates the work of Flying Bark Productions, Australia's oldest continuing animation studio, and Fauna Productions, the creators of Skippy the Bush Kangaroo.

Both studios have expressed their pride in being part of this commemorative release.

The 'Round the Twist' stamps feature original artwork from the lighthouse, where the series is set, and stamps depicting items from some of its most memorable episodes.

Based on stories by Australian author Paul Jennings, the series remains one of Australia’s most successful and well-loved series.

It's even set to hit the stage with 'Round the Twist: The Musical' debuting in Brisbane.

The 'Kids’ Showtime Greats' stamp collection is more than just a set of postage stamps; it's a celebration of Australian storytelling and a reminder of the importance of continuing to share these tales with new generations.

It's a beautiful way to keep these stories' magic alive and introduce them to children who may not have had the chance to experience them yet.

Available now at participating Post Offices or online, these stamps are perfect for sending a letter to a loved one, adding to a collection, or simply as a keepsake to remember the shows that have brought so much joy to Australian families.

So, whether you're a collector, a fan of classic Australian TV, or just looking for a unique way to spice up your correspondence, the 'Kids’ Showtime Greats' stamp collection is a must-have.

In similar news, the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission approved Australia Post's increase in stamp prices by up to 25 per cent from 3 April.

The price of an ordinary small letter stamp will rise from $1.20 to $1.50, while other postal charges for larger letters will also increase. You can read more about it here.

It would be great if these shows were put back on TV instead of the rubbish being fed to our kids now.
Shows with good values and morales.

I think I’ve probably bought one stamp in the last 5 years, and I’m not the only one as I haven’t received a letter in that time either. Do stamp collectors buy these kind of stamps 🤷‍♀️
