Aussies spoke up! And this chocolate favourite is returning because of it

They disappeared without warning—leaving chocolate lovers confused and betrayed.

The shelves felt emptier, festive treats felt duller, and many wondered if they’d ever see a Celebrations box again.

Now, just in time for Christmas in July, they’re making a sweet return.

In a move that shocked Aussies late last year, Mars Wrigley discontinued the beloved Celebrations chocolate boxes in November, blaming rising import costs from Europe.

The announcement left fans reeling, with many expressing outrage over the sudden loss of a go-to gift and party staple—especially ahead of the holiday season.

However, public demand proved too loud to ignore.

Mars Wrigley has now confirmed that Celebrations would return to supermarket shelves across Australia from mid-July 2025, with a recommended retail price of $16.

‘The consumer response demanding the return of Celebrations last year was incredible, so we are thrilled to bring Celebrations back to supermarket shelves around the country,’ said Mars Wrigley marketing director Ben Hill in a company statement.

‘We can’t wait for everyone to enjoy them again and for hopefully many years to come.’

The original decision to axe the chocolate boxes hit especially hard during the festive period, as families scrambled to find alternatives for stocking fillers, office Kris Kringles, and dessert tables.

Though the company offered no apology, the reversal appears to be a direct result of the backlash from disappointed fans.
The updated timeline means shoppers can expect to see Celebrations in major supermarkets by early September—right in time for Father’s Day gifting.

But don’t expect everyone to forgive and forget just yet.

As some fans cheekily noted, Mars Wrigley might be back in our good graces…but the mini Bounty bars are still not welcome at the party.

If you thought the drama around discontinued chocolates was tough to swallow, brace yourself—there’s more bittersweet news ahead.

While Celebrations are making a comeback, another issue is quietly melting into the spotlight: soaring prices across the chocolate aisle.

Find out what’s driving the cost surge and how it might affect your next sweet treat splurge.
