J Vetter's Team.jpg

This photo was taken in early 1890s exact date unknown but this family bullocky team purchased land, near Loddon Siding and Cooladdi Qld, and became graziers in the beginning of 1900s.
The Persons in the photo are (Left to right) Team Owner John Vetter (affectionately known as "John George" it distinguish from his son John Henry) John Henry standing next to Johnny then the man with the Red Shirt was a employed Bullocky, (Name Unknown) but I do know he was well liked by the family. The last man there is my Grandfather, Joesph Edward Vetter.
The photo was taken near the Ward River Crossing about 40miles north-west of Charleville. The photographer was an Uncle of Johnny Vetter named Oscar Vetter.
The Photo was originally black and white but in those days artists would colour the photo to best of their knowledge. We can see where the colouring seemed cover some minor items and the photographers name was Otto Vetter (part of the name is covered)
The Number of Bullocks in this team is considered to be the maximum possible to be in-line (So I have been told by older men in the South Burnett region, They knew a lot about Bullock Teams and some even worked with them when they were young.)
A copy of this photo was Framed and displayed in the Dalgety Wool Store in Adelaide for many many years, according to my Grandfather and grandmother.)
