Are you eligible? Bupa is giving $320 million back to customers!

Everybody loves a cashback offer, and it's even better when it comes at just the right time. Considering the rising costs of living and the financial struggles many Australian households face, the timing of Bupa's announcement couldn’t be any better.

The Australian health insurance company Bupa recently announced it would return a whopping $320 million in health insurance claims savings to its members.

This returned cash comes as part of Bupa’s COVID-19-related savings, which are being redistributed to its customers. Since the start of the pandemic, Bupa has now delivered a staggering $1.27 billion back to its customers.

Recognising the impact of cost-of-living pressures on the average Australian household, Bupa Health Insurance Managing Director, Chris Carroll, said that this latest cashback would help soften the financial blow we all feel during these extraordinary times.

'With cost-of-living pressures continuing to impact Australian household budgets, we're returning a further $320 million to our customers at a time when they need it most,' Carroll said.

'We know returning savings will be welcomed by our customers, and we hope it can provide some reprieve for their everyday expenses.'

With the ongoing pandemic leading many to reassess their priorities and focus more on their overall health and well-being, it’s nice to see an insurance giant like Bupa making an effort to support their customers.

So, who is eligible for this offer? The cashback will be available to all policyholders who had domestic private health coverage with Bupa for a minimum of three months between 1 July 2022 and 30 June 2023.

The payments will start arriving in customers’ bank accounts towards the end of the year, and the amount customers can expect to receive is between $38 and $276, depending on individual policyholder circumstances.

Bupa's policyholders will receive direct communication later this year, sharing exact amounts and when they can expect the cashback.

The remaining question is: have your bank details changed since Bupa's last offering? If so, update your details via the Bupa website to ensure smooth and speedy delivery of your refund.

How interesting one might ask how is it health insurance companies raise rates yearly ,cut back services as it’s so expensive and charge such high premiums hence the high price we all of a sudden can splash out $320 million so much for struggling while it is good of BUPA if There is that much money in it what’s it about charging sky high premiums and not covering everything cutting back servicing but in actual fact your flush with funds now remember thiss is only 1 health insurance company you wonder how much the others make but there all struggling

Other health insurance companies did this last year.
I'm with AHM and received back $87 last October, so looks like Bupa is a year behind other funds.

When I have compared AHM against Bupa AHM was cheaper and offered more for your money

Im with AHM and and received a cheque a few months back from them for $168. It said it was for the period during Covid or something like that. Good to get some money back for a change.🤔 Maybe they should also compensate me and thousands of other people' for when they got hacked and our details went on to/up to the dark web. The stress that caused me and I'm sure all of the other customers as well was horrible.🙄

Yeh, I’m with Bupa and have top coverage . Had complicated eye surgery done last week and was able to chose a top specialist . I was with Medibank Private for many years , but when I was living near Hervey Bay , I could only pick one dentist who would fully cover me and I was very unhappy with that service, so I changed to Bupa about 5 yrs ago . Paid also for my anaesthetist, no gap. With MP I would have to pay a gap.
You chose the health cover which applies best for you, it is worth to compare . When we get older , we might need the coverage for hip/knee replacements and also cardiac/thoracic treatment.

Bupa
AHM all ripping people off
Glad to have great benefits at Teachers Health Insurance and one does not even need to be a Teacher nowadays at all

i am now receiving my second cash back from QCH. I would not have bupa.

All health insurance is expensive. We've been with Bupa for many years. Last week, I had a dental check-up. Xrays, clean and polish with no gap to pay. We've never had an excess for hospital, however we do now with the price increases.

This is the 2nd time Bupa is putting money back into members accounts , so they are not behind , they may be a little ahead in stead . I can not remember the first time the amount I got back, but it was a very reasonable and just have to wait and see what I will get back this time.

I was wondering if could get some of this cash back from all these insurance/health care companies who have been ripping people off for some time now..... Dont have any policies with any of them but one can always Hope.... LOL

Think you just could have used a wrong word there in the intro ... "popular". Can you remember the old Medical Benefits Fund days and the way that system worked?

I was with Medibank and did not receive a refund. Having said that I stepped down back in aug 2022 as membership was too expensive for me. I am now in cancer treatment since Jan 2023 and find that what I receive from the government and hospital support, cover my needs totally.
