Are you at risk? Recall announced for an ALDI PowerPoint
It's no secret that ALDI has several popular and sought-after items, from their amazing weekly specials and discounted holiday ranges to their bargain-priced home appliances.
But recently, we have been alerted to a potentially dangerous product recall. The discount supermarket has been urging customers to stop using their Workzone Double USB Powerpoint, as it could cause serious injury.
The product was sold nationally (excluding Tasmania and Northern Territory) from 27 May to 4 August this year, and those with the double USB PowerPoint should take great caution.
Product Safety Australia has warned consumers that the two model numbers affected by the recall—RPOD10U-AA and RPOD10U-AC—contain weak contacts that could lead to injuries or death from fire or electrocution.
Look for the product code (708521), batch numbers (05/2023 or 07/2023), and the two affected model numbers listed above.
Once you’ve identified whether or not your product is part of the recall, stop using the Powerpoint and follow the steps to get a new item or a refund.
For customers who had purchased it but haven’t installed it, you may return it to any ALDI store for a full refund.
If the product has already been installed, fill out this web form for a free replacement.
There’s no time limit on the return of a recalled item. Still, it is advisable for consumers to stop using the recalled items for their safety.
