An Interesting Contradiction

How's this for a contradiction

Mr Cameron said other factors like increasing transport costs AND LABOUR SHORTAGES had also pushed prices up, but supply and demand were the biggest factors. (my emphasis).
Then in the same article:

on the subject of fertilizer for the cattle farmer:

"Yes, it's going to be an extra cost because of the way income is FOR EMPLOYING PEOPLE [in Australia]," she said. (my emphasis).

so the price of meat goes up because there are no workers AND because of the price to employ people.
