Lovely medium sized parrot
We found them by the roadside on the way into Milford Sound.
They wait in off-the-road wayside places where tourists stop to take photos.
As soon as we stopped, they swarmed our car looking for free food.
Unfortunately, they love to eat rubber, so they attacked the windscreen wiper blades.
Whilst we were there, a motorhome pulled into the carpark.
The Keas lined up outside their door, waited until it was opened, then invaded the motorhome.
We could hear people yelling and screaming inside the motorhome, however all ended well when the Keas came out and the occupants could close their door.
They can become nuisances, but it is due to the handouts they get from tourists who want to attract them.
