Camped near a township called Nymboida and looked upstream to see a herd of cattle in the stream. People were skinny dipping just downstream.

When visiting the NT back in the 70's, my Brother and I took a stroll up beside a creek from which we both drank.

Then we came to a fence covered with signs warning us to stay out.

It was the tailings dam of a Uranium mine, which had broken in heavy rain and allowed the waste it contained to wash away down the creek.

Didn't appear to do us any harm, but neither of us need night lights.
