Aldi shoppers puzzled over X-rated special buy – “My mind is in the gutter!”

Sometimes, even the most seemingly innocent items end up looking dodgy but hey, at least the occurrence never fails to make us laugh. Supermarket giant Aldi left customers in hysterics after launching a new dog toy that went viral for all the wrong reasons.

A snap of the toy, which is made to look like a corn on the cob with a suction cup as a base, was posted by a woman alongside the caption: “New premium ‘DOG’ toys in at Aldi, with a suction cup!”

The woman also included a blushing and laughing emoji in her Facebook post before leaving users to decide for themselves what they think of the controversial toy.

Aldi is known for its affordable prices and their ‘Special Buys’ aisle is a favourite among shoppers – but while most of the products don’t usually raise eyebrows, this particular product has undoubtedly caught the attention of many.

"Rushed to see the comment on this... Am I the only one or are there more filthy-minded swines here," one woman asked.

"Jesus wept! My mind is in the gutter!" another exclaimed.

A third asked, "Are you sure that's a dog toy with a suction cup???"

Even more hilarious takes popped up in the comments section.

"Might get one of these, I don't own a dog though."

"Ribbed for your pleasure," another teased.

"A dog toy? Really? Or is it just me that laughed?" one more wrote.

But not everyone found the buy amusing. One raised their concerns, arguing that it is not suitable for dogs and looks highly offensive.

Other Facebook users shared photos of dog toys from other stores that also looked questionable.

"Got this toy for mine from B&M today, I don't need to tell you what it looks like," one said, while another chimed in to post a neon green version from the brand Wilko.

However, it seems that Aldi isn’t the first supermarket to overlook an innocent product gone wrong. Previously, Coles committed a tiny mistake with their Chicken Breast T-Rex bites that inevitably left thousands in fits of laughter.

Yes, I am also not impressed with reading this kind of rubbish. It is not informative or entertaining, just cheap gutter humour. I am close to unsubscribing from SDC actually.
