Aldi launches picnic menus that cost only $5 per person

Sydneysiders and Melbourne residents are enjoying their first bit of freedom now that several COVID-19 restrictions have been lifted.
NSW and Victoria residents can now enjoy an outdoor picnic with family and friends.
People who have been fully vaccinated will be able to participate in a recreational gathering of up to five people. However, in Victoria, it can only be five people from a maximum of two households, whereas in the Sydney LGA’s of concern, it can only be with members of your household.
Nonetheless, this is an exciting time for residents to eat out and socialise with friends and family while enjoying some fresh air.
If you’re planning an outdoor gathering, you might want to check out Aldi. The supermarket giant has launched three special picnic menus that cost only $5 per person.

The three fancy menus are called: “Sweet Dreams Are Made of Cheese”, “The Taste of France”, and “Sweet and Savoury Sensations” and feature more than one Aldi favourite in each option.
At $20.73, “The Taste of France” is the cheapest option, but with the word ‘France’ in the name, you know that there’s going to be a good selection! It includes the very fancy Emporium Selection Goat’s Cheese Barrel, a selection of savoury finger snacks and a sparkling chardonnay pinot noir wine.

“Sweet Dreams Are Made of Cheese” costs $24, and as the name suggests, contains a lot of cheese. This includes two of Aldi’s best-selling cheeses: the Emporium Selection Ash brie and Emporium Selection Smooth Blue Cheese.

And at $24.62, the “Sweet and Savoury Sensations” is a combination of antipasto and dessert, featuring Aldi’s award-winning Choceur Dark Chocolate.

“We source our products from the finest cheesemakers in Australia and across the world and are proud of our quality line up,” Aldi Australia’s buying director Shane Aitken said in a statement.
“I couldn’t think of anything better than placing quality cheese at the centre of a picnic platter to enjoy with friends or family outdoors.
“We have put together some great value, tasty options to look out for during your next Aldi shop, with all the cheeses under $5.”
Grab your baskets, and get ready for a glorious picnic!
