ALDI just launched a $129 record player and music fans are going wild – here's why!

Everyone loves a bit of nostalgia, and we here at Seniors Discount Club are especially partial to the classics we grew up with.

We’re sure many of you out there share the same sentiment – and what better way to relive the good old days than to buy yourself a record player?

Fortunately for us music lovers, ALDI has made it possible for us to own a record player at a relatively low cost!

Introducing the ALDI Retro Turntable — the $129 item comes complete with three different record-playing speeds, Bluetooth and AUX input capabilities, and even integrated speakers. Plus, it’s available in two colourways – Charcoal/Cream and Teal/Cream.

Available as of December 17 as part of the Special Buys section of the ALDI website, the release has been met with much enthusiasm from music fans all over the country.

Many are looking forward to getting their own set before the end of the year and giving it as a gift this Christmas.

'In case you want to buy me a Chrissy present,' one person wrote, mentioning their friend.

Another exclaimed: 'I need one of these!'

'I’ve got all of grandad's old records that I’d love to play,' a third shared.

It should be noted that in the previous year, the German retailer also sold a similar retro-inspired record player turntable.

Unfortunately, last year’s launch wasn’t all that successful, as many people have pointed out technical issues with the product.

Among them is a complaint that the needle is made out of steel, so old 78s cannot be played—and there were also reports of some technical-related errors.

One customer wrote: 'Something about the design means it plays the other side of the record as well! It comes out faintly, sounding like radio noise in the background.'

'The ALDI turntable looks great until you try to play a record. Then it skips over the record and timing is all wrong,' another review read.

'After trying different speeds and adjusting it and trying a different album, it still sounds terrible. Going to return it immediately. Sadly you get what you pay for.'

Key Takeaways

  • ALDI released its Retro Turntable item on December 17 for $129 as part of its Special Buys.
  • The turntable comes with three record-playing speeds, Bluetooth, AUX input, and integrated speakers.
  • Social media users are excited about the product, thinking it would make an ideal Christmas present.
  • ALDI offered the record player last year as well and released a pair of rollerskates as part of its Special Buys program last month.

That's not to say that this new Turntable won't be as awesome as we think it will be. We just hope they've taken customers' feedback into account!

If you're ready to take the plunge and get it before it's gone, just remember to keep an eye on the reviews and make sure you're getting your money's worth.

When you say, "Aldi is "dropping" this trendy special buy, doesn't that mean they are no longer stocking the item? I am confused!
