Are you a fan of McDonald's’ Big Mac? We all know that these super-sized burgers are not our best bet nutrition-wise because they contain 550 calories, 30g of fat, 11g of saturated fat, 45g of carbs, and 1010mg of sodium. However, many people can't seem to get enough of the delicious and juicy burger.
If you’ve ever wished you could have a McDonald's Big Mac with fewer calories and make it at home, then this lady has you covered.
Fitness coach Bec Hargraves has documented how she makes a healthier alternative to the Big Mac at home using Aldi products. And the result? It only has 420 calories!

In her Tiktok video, Bec said that she buys all of her burger ingredients at Aldi, where she claims to have found $2.69 “brioche buns that taste literally like McDonald's.”
According to the description, the buns are topped with sesame seeds and "enriched with eggs, milk, and butter for the perfect gourmet burger,".

Then she rolls 100g of lean beef mince into a ball and places it in the pan. While in the pan, she presses the beef mince with a plate to flatten it into a patty.
Bec then tops the burger with smokey cheddar cheese, burger sauce, raw onions, and pickles.

And voila! A homemade Big Mac with only 420 calories and 30g of protein.
Commenters loved the Aldi McDonald’s hack, with one person saying they will definitely try the recipe for dinner.
“Aldi has the best buns,” one person commented, while another said: “Aldi buns are the best. I love the cheeseburger buns with no seeds. Good for homemade burgs.”

Others in the comments suggested ways Bec could improve the burger. One tip was buying their pickles from Coles as supposedly they taste exactly like the ones at Macca's.

Watch the amazing hack:
Another person said Bec should get dehydrated onions and then rehydrate them in “Macca’s style.”
A few commenters said they actually buy the burger buns from McDonald’s and make the burger contents at home, with one person saying, “$4 for a pack of 6 gourmet buns, and you can buy their English muffins too.”
And yes, we didn’t know you could buy plain buns or muffins from McDonald’s either. Eggs and milk are also available to purchase from some stores.
