Aerosmith's farewell tour postponed as frontman Steven Tyler shares shocking health update

It was a sad day for both Aerosmith fans and classic rock enthusiasts everywhere when a health update from the band's frontman, Steven Tyler, forced the postponement of their highly-anticipated 'Peace Out' farewell tour.
Wanting to keep their fans in the loop, a statement was released to the band's verified Facebook page confirming that the singer had suffered a serious injury to his vocal cords, which required ongoing medical care.
This left Tyler and his bandmates with no choice but to postpone the tour's remaining 2023 dates until sometime in 2024.
The statement explained that Tyler had experienced 'injury to his vocal cords' and 'subsequent bleeding', prompting him to take a thirty-day break from performing.
However, further evaluation revealed that the singer had done more damage than initially thought, having 'fractured his larynx'.
'To our fans: Unfortunately, Steven's vocal injury is more serious than initially thought. His doctor has confirmed that in addition to the damage to his vocal cords, he fractured his larynx, which requires ongoing care,' the statement read.
Since the fracture requires patience and rest, the band decided to reschedule all their remaining 'Peace Out' tour dates over October, November and December.
The 40-date tour had been pegged as both a celebration of Aerosmith's 50 years together and a last hurrah, and Tyler himself had been eagerly priming the masses since the tour was announced this month.
But sadly, Tyler's excitement had to be dashed.
'I am heartbroken to not be out there with Aerosmith, my brothers and the incredible Black Crowes, rocking with the best fans in the world. I promise we will be back as soon as we can!' He wrote in a personal message accompanying the statement.
The health update comes several months after a woman sued Tyler for sexual assault during her teenage years in the 1970s.
Julia Misley, who had been speaking out publicly for years about Tyler's treatment of her during her teenage years, filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles thanks to a rule temporarily lifting the statute of limitations on sexual abuse suffered as a child.
Misley alleged sexual battery, sexual assault, and intentional infliction of distress over a three-year period while on the road with the rocker, including a coerced abortion.
Tyler has denied all allegations. In the wake of these events, Misley has become an anti-abortion advocate in the US, using her experience with Tyler to support her stance in anti-abortion campaigns.
Aerosmith, inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2001, has sold more than 150 million albums during their over 50-year career, won four Grammys, embarked on ten world tours, and achieved numerous Top 10 pop hits, including 'I Don't Want to Miss a Thing', 'Walk This Way', 'Dream On', 'Jaded', and 'What It Takes'.
We wish Steven Tyler all the best in his healing process and hope the rocker will be as fit and ready to go as ever when his band resumes their tour.
