I remember as a teen-ager going horse riding with a youth group. The guy in charge of the group was obese to say the least. He insisted on getting on one of the trail horses with us and the poor horse was struggling under his mass. Things were sort of okay until we got up to a canter and said horse had had enough. He separated from the main group, walked into the middle of the river we were following and just sat down. I can still remember seeing poor old Oswald doing a backward somersault into the water, trying to find his glasses while the rest of us had to dismount as we were laughing too hard to stay in the saddle. He didn't take us riding after that.
I kept up riding for many years after that, I've always loved horses.
