A royal peace offering from Duchess Meghan to Catherine

Rumours of a rift between the two royal in-laws started to stir in the lead up to Harry and Meghan’s wedding at Windsor Castle last 2018. It was said to be due to a friction of interest over a flower girl’s and bridesmaids’ outfits.

In his book Meghan: A Hollywood Princess, royal biographer Andrew Morton inquires more into the tension between the two princesses.

He claimed that both the Duchess of Sussex and Duchess of Cambridge gave each other offerings of peace, with Meghan presenting her sister in-law a personalised bracelet and Catherine sending a bouquet of flowers along with an apology note.

The biographer has written that the feud concerning the outfits was in the past now. Kate and six of Meghan’s closest friends were given gold bracelets designed by Californian jeweller Lisette Polny. Thank-you gifts from the former Suits star for their help and support.

The two royal wives were initially close friends. Together with their husbands Harry and William, the group was nicknamed as the Fab Four by the press as early as their first engagement together for their joint charity, the Royal Foundation, before the actress even married into the family in 2018.

Together with her husband Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, in an exclusive tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey earlier this year, Meghan Markle has addressed the rumours of a rift between her and Catherine. The Duchess insisted that there was no problem between them.

"Kate is a good person. I have seen so much of this idea of polarity - but if you love me you don't need to hate her, and if you love her you don't need to hate me.”

Even though peace was temporarily declared, senior members of the Royal family, including Prince Charles, were left furious by the couple's departure and the timing of the announcement, reiterating that there was a lack of collaboration with the Palace.
