A popular item from Myer stores has been URGENTLY recalled over safety concerns
- Replies 0
After concerns about the product’s safety, a well-known item for toddlers has been pulled off Myer’s shelves.
The Jack & Milly Koala silicone ‘sippy cups’ were sold in-store and online between November 2021 and June 2022. The cups, which were available in four colours, have the style number AJMS22512.
Product Safety Australia has issued a warning that the silicone on the cups may be incredibly harmful to children.
The authority detailed that the silicone on the item may end up tearing and detaching from the product. If a piece of the silicone loosens from the sippy cup, it becomes a choking or ingestion hazard, especially for smaller children. Choking and accidental ingestion can result in serious injuries or death.

The consumer watchdog stated: “Customers should immediately stop using the sippy cup and return the product to a Myer store as soon as possible for a refund,”
“A receipt is not required to obtain a refund,”
Myer released a statement on the recall, saying: “Myer places the highest importance on the quality and integrity of its products and apologises to customers for any inconvenience this recall may cause,”
This isn’t the first time a kid’s item was taken off the markets’ shelves for being potentially harmful. Previously, a wooden rattle teether was also urgently recalled for failing to comply with the mandatory size and shape requirements.
Make sure to keep your grandkids away from these products, folks! For more information, you may contact Myers’ customer service team through this email: [email protected]. You may also speak with someone directly by calling 13 69 37.
