Queensland shopper Helen detailed the experience on her Facebook post, which according to her started when she let another male customer move ahead of her when a new register opened up.
Helen said that she started unpacking her own items onto the conveyor belt after the man paid for his groceries. However, she noticed that the male customer stayed at the nearby Aldi checkout instead of leaving.
After she had her groceries scanned, the man stepped in to offer to pay her $187 grocery bill to show his gratitude for the "nice thing" Helen had done for him.
The Aldi shopper said that she was stunned by the man's actions.

“When a second register opened, I motioned for the man in front of me in the other line to go first even though I was closer because he was there before me."
“Anyway, he hung around at the front after he had been served and when my groceries were finished being scanned, he stepped up and paid for them! It was $187!"
“He said it was because I did a nice thing for him. I didn’t think anything of letting him go first because he was there before me."
“What he did for me was a lot nicer than what I did for him, I couldn’t believe it!”
Fellow Aldi fans applauded the male customer’s random act of generosity. Credit: Facebook.
One Facebook user wrote: “Find this guy and marry him!”
“So wonderful to see they’re still kind people in this world. Both of you deserve credit for your kindness," added another.
A third wrote: “It’s called kindness. It’s beautiful, selfless and it exists.”
Another wrote: “So nice to read something positive for a change. Nice people do exist. Someone did a similar for me in a service station line paying for petrol once, I will never forget it and always pay it forward when I can.”
Finally, another added: “What a peach. Very rare.”
