She explained: ‘I had a little bit of a health scare.
‘I went into hospital Tuesday after I got diagnosed with cancer in my uterus. So I had an emergency hysterectomy.
‘I’m fine. I’m home now. I stayed in hospital Tuesday, Wednesday, came home Thursday. I’m fine, just a bit sore, recovering well. Was a big scare, but thank God, they caught it early, and I’m fine.’
The Gogglebox favourite admitted that she had not kept up with regular screenings in recent years.
She urged other women to prioritise their health by keeping up with routine tests.
‘I used to do them regularly, and I think the last few years, I didn’t go. I can’t remember the last time I went and I happened to the doctor because I had a concern, and they did a pap smear, and lo and behold, a week later, I’m in hospital,’ she said.
Anastasia reassured supporters that doctors caught the cancer early.
She added: ‘I’m fine. As I said, I’m recovering. They said they caught it early, but I’m still waiting for the after-surgery tests…. The doctor said that it didn’t spread, so hopefully I’ll be okay.’
Her honesty has struck a chord with many, highlighting the importance of preventative healthcare.
For now, she remains at home, focusing on recovery after the sudden operation.
Gogglebox is set to return at 7:30 pm Thursday on 10.
