7-Eleven’s Foray Into the Beauty Industry – Introducing their $1 Coffee Scrub!

An unexpected name has recently entered the ever-expanding world of the beauty industry.

In what is likely to be the most unexpected beauty launch of the year, convenience store chain 7-Eleven has sent fans of their budget coffee into a frenzy as they unveil their latest product.

What is it, you may ask? Well, nothing less than a limited-edition Coffee Body Scrub, made from the same aromatic Arabica and Robusta beans found in their budget brew that millions of Aussies have loved over the years.

Body scrubs, particularly those made from coffee grounds, have been all the rage for some time now, being a beauty and skincare staple for many.

Now, 7-Eleven has gotten onboard, much to the shock of beauty fans across the nation.

The creative idea behind the fun new campaign is to convince coffee enthusiasts of all ages that the quality of the 7-Eleven brew is not only worthy of drinking but also rubbing all over your body.

And just like the convenience store’s iconic cuppa, the scrub is also a great quality product that will not burn a hole in your pocket. It retails for only $1 and is exclusively available on the Adore Beauty website starting Tuesday, March 22.

Australian actress and model Olympia Valance has also been revealed as the face of the new product.

“Coffee and skincare products are two things I can't live without, so being the face of 7-Eleven’s Coffee Body Scrub was a no brainer,” she said.

“Now I can exfoliate, rejuvenate and caffeinate with the same great coffee Australians have been enjoying for years.”

Adam Jacka, 7-Eleven’s head of Marketing Communications said that the Coffee Body Scrub is a fun and innovative way to showcase the quality of coffee that thousands of Aussies enjoy every single day.

And in case you’re wondering (we certainly were!): No, the company does not use used or discarded coffee grinds for the scrub. The beans are batch-roasted in Melbourne and then finely ground to go into the skincare product.

The 7-Eleven Coffee Scrub is produced locally in Australia, is 100% naturally derived, vegan and cruelty-free.

My first thought was that's a good idea to use up all those used coffee grounds only to find out that they were roasting coffee especially for the scrub. I can't help but think they've missed an opportunity here and that there has to be something wrong with the world that we are growing, harvesting and shipping coffee just for privileged western folk to spread it all over their bodies.:(:(
