$445 call out and service fee
Hi, would like to share with my experience with Acorn chairlift.
Whilst under 12 month warranty there is no charge for call out and service fee which was good for me as I had to call the Acorn chairlift technition twice to replace parts and try and work out why the chairlift was making so much crackling sounds.
After one year had passed, I encountered more problems with the chairlift making lots of rough bumps, randomly stopping half way up and travelling at a very slow pace.
This is where I had to pay $445 for the call out and service fee. This is a substantial amount of money for a call out and service fee for a pensioner. On top of that, I was charged another $100 which I was told about upon completion of the work. I said to the technition you should have told me before charging me the extra $100 for a part, to which I was told, if I don't pay, the technition would remove the new part that was fitted on the chairlift. Fortunately I was able to contact a friend who kindly lent me the $100.
I dont think that Acorn can justify charging $445 for a call out and service fee with additional costs for parts to elderly pensioners who perhaps are the majority of clients.
The chairlift is new and was used correctly, how then are there faulty issues with the chairlift and I need to pay for the faults.
I don't think Acorn are fair in their pricing or the way they communicate with the elderly.
Read the reviews on ACORN chairlift to better understand what I am trying to convey. God bless. Kind regards
