1. Vinegar bag hack for grimy shower head

Let's be honest, how long has it been since you cleaned your showerhead? It's the part of the bathroom that some of us don't notice until it's not working as well as it should. It's because mineral deposits accumulate over time, causing nozzles to squirt water in all directions or entirely clog, resulting in low water pressure or flow. To remove watermarks from the nozzle and restore normal water flow, follow these simple steps:
- Tie a sandwich bag containing vinegar to your shower head using a rubber band or tape.
- Allow the bag to sit overnight.
- Remove the bag and wipe the residue away.
- Then run the shower for a few minutes to flush the vinegar out of the showerhead.

Raise your hand if you hate cleaning lampshades! Ugh, their odd shapes and the fact that dust collects inside and outside make them difficult and inconvenient to clean. But we have just the thing to make the job a little easier. Use a lint roller! Because most lampshades are made of fabric, lint rollers are a quick and easy way to remove dust accumulated inside and out. Simply roll the lint roller over the shade and watch the dust come off. Just make sure to replace the roller tape if it becomes clogged with dust, as it loses its stickiness.
3. Use an old pillowcase to clean the ceiling fan

Ceiling fans have to be one of the most difficult things to clean, yet they collect so much dust in your home. If you leave them dusty for too long, you risk having dust fall all over the place when you turn it on full blast. It's the last thing you want to deal with, especially in the heat of summer! Thankfully, there is a really simple and brilliant way to clean your ceiling fan that will cost you nothing. I repeat, nothing! And did I mention there are no tools required? All you need is a ladder and an old pillowcase. Here's how to do it:
- Check to see if the ceiling fan is turned off.
- Grab a ladder and position it to see the top of the blades.
- Place the old pillowcase over the blade of the ceiling fan.
- Then just slide the pillowcase off.
- Repeat with the remaining blades.
And there you have it! You now have a spotless ceiling fan. And the best part is that the pillowcase prevents dust from falling from the fan onto the floor or worse, you. You can then spray some all-purpose cleaner or furniture polish onto the blades.

Ugh, here's another difficult thing to clean: the fridge. I imagine that most of us put off cleaning the fridge for as long as we can. And honestly, I don't blame you! Who wants year-old crumbs all over their clothes as they wipe their heart out? And, of course, you'll have to deal with the inevitable: cleaning out that crusty jam or old sauce in the back of the fridge.
To avoid cleaning up juice spills and gunk for hours, use washable fridge mats. These mats are super absorbent and come in different sizes to fit all high-traffic areas in your refrigerator. They also come in different colours, making your fridge look cute and tidy. And the best part is… the material is breathable and promotes airflow between the plastic shelf and the produce making your produce last longer. These mats can save you a lot of time cleaning by simply keeping your refrigerator clean.

5. Dishwashing tablets for burnt pots and pans
Ugh! Another nightmare to clean: burnt pots and pans. Instead of scrubbing it by hand, you can use dishwasher tablets to restore them to like-new condition. Here's how to go about it:
1. Fill the pot halfway with water and add one dishwashing tablet.
2. Allow the water to boil and then reduce to a simmer for about a minute.
3. You'll notice that the burnt residues have dissolved. Allow it to boil for a longer period if the pot has severe stains and burnt areas.
4. Finally, throw the water into the sink and scrub the stains with a sponge. You'll be surprised at how easily the stains come off without using any force.
6. Vodka hack for Leather sofas
Leather is one of the most durable and low-maintenance natural materials, so it’s no surprise why it costs a fortune. However, leather is porous and easily susceptible to dirt, dust, and stains.
When it comes to furniture like this, you could consider hiring a professional to clean it. However, hiring a professional to clean your leather sofa every three months will be costly. Fortunately, there's a really simple hack you can use to clean yours.
Instead of rubbing expensive leather cream cleaners into your leather sofa for hours, try wiping it down with vodka. Surprisingly, vodka is among the top natural cleaning products. It is well-known as a powerful cleanser capable of cutting and removing grease, oil, and stains. It is also an effective disinfectant.
Here's how to use vodka to clean your precious leather sofa:
- Dampen a soft, clean white cloth with pure vodka.
- Dab the cloth in the stained area.
- Then blot dry the area using a clean cloth.

- Now, peel off the sticker.
Do you have any furry friends who live with you in your home? Then you are probably well aware of how difficult it is to clean their hair, especially in the carpets. And if you think your vacuum is collecting all of your pet's hair, wait until you use a rubber squeegee brush on your carpet. A rubber squeegee brush can remove the pet hair you were unaware was trapped there.
Use short, quick strokes with your squeegee brush to get the most pet hair out of your carpet or rug. They are not only effective at removing pet hair from carpets, but they also work on hardwood floors. Watch how the rubber bristles act like a magnet to collect all of the hair in one big clump.
9. The bin cleaning hack
Are you smelling a funky odour in your house? It could very well be because of that kitchen bin you haven't cleaned in months. Your bin can contain a lot of bacteria, and you should clean it far more frequently than you do. Don’t let the crumbs, sticky spots, and gunk settle in there for too long. Once it starts to smell, get some dish soap, a brush or dishwashing sponge, and a microfibre cloth, then head to the bathroom because t's time to clean that bin of yours!
- First, take out any stray rubbish from the bin.
- Place the bin in the shower.
- Warm up the water (not hot). Add dish soap to the bottom of the bin while it's heating up.

- Allow the soap and water to sit for 15 minutes in the plastic trash can. For stainless steel interior cans, leave for 5 minutes.
- After soaking the bin, scrub the inside with a cleaning brush or sponge.
- Wash the bin’s exterior with a sponge, or if it’s made of stainless steel, use a microfiber cloth to avoid scratching it.
