‘Stamped right on the buns,’ something unusual in Aldi Grocery store

A regular shopper at Aldi has uploaded a photo on Reddit of a humorous mishap on his usual grocery run, as reported by Yahoo! Lifestyle's Marni Dixit here.
The photo appears to be just your regular hamburger buns but a second take uncovers a funnily odd detail.
On the website’s sub, the user wrote, “While at Aldi today, I saw these hamburger buns that were missing their bag...but the expiration date was stamped right on the buns.”
The post garnered attention from various Reddit users and soon enough, other people who were just as baffled by the incident made comments on the thread. “I like that the person who put it there said f*** it nothing wrong here,” the top comment says.

“They’ve been sitting in a distribution centre for who knows how long. Which ironically means at least 4 people would have come in contact with these bare buns and said, “not my problem.””
More users have added their own contribution to the running joke, with them saying that, "You have to pay 5¢ extra for the bag”, "About time people start getting serious about reducing plastic waste,” and “This is the new eco-friendly plastic free packaging option.”
The conversation then shifted to how the working conditions in a supermarket or a grocery store would easily miss minor incidents like this one. A user who happened to work in a bread distribution centre added, “That could have been a part of a big order. Like 15 trays. Could have been buried in the middle tray. We usually slide 15 trails from one wheel to another. Or lift 2 or 3 trays at a time. Easy to miss sh** like this.”
But all in all, this bun incident has brought a light-hearted humour to everyone’s day, and they arrived to the assumption that the worker actually wanted people to see and have a chuckle at the funny coincidence.
“I would have taken a picture, thought about it, and decided someone else needed this tiny bit of joy in their lives. Somewhere, deep down, there’s an optimist inside me that secretly hopes there are four other people out there who think the same way as me and just wanted to spread the joy like Mayo on a burger bun.”
