‘She’s alright’: Prince Charles shares update on Queen’s health

In an ambassadorial role visit to South London on Thursday morning, Prince Charles was asked by a number of royal fans standing outside Brixton’s NatWest branch.

“Prince Charles, how is your mother?”

To which the future King gave a brief but reassuring response, “She’s alright, thank you.”

He continued to greet well-wishers before heading to meet the young business people supported by his foundation.

Concern has been growing for the 95-year-old monarch after she cancelled a series of scheduled appearances over the past few weeks.

The Queen pulled out of the COP26 climate summit in Glasgow and a recent trip to Northern Ireland.

And now, it seems like the Queen is set to miss the Festival of Remembrance at the Royal Albery Hall in London on Saturday night.

The annual event will be led by Prince Charles and his wife Camilla, along with other royal family members, including Prince William and Kate Middleton, the Earl and Countess of Wessex, and the Princess Royal.

According to Buckingham Palace, the Queen is firmly intent on attending the Remembrance Sunday service at the Cenotaph. However, there is no confirmation of her attendance just yet.

After spending a night in the hospital for “preliminary investigations”, Queen Elizabeth returned to Windsor Castle from Sandringham earlier this week to rest, following doctor’s orders.

She is set to take up ‘light duties’ for two weeks.

During a recorded speech for the global convention, the Queen paid tribute to Prince Charles and Prince William, and told delegates that “None of us will live forever.”

Royal biographer Angela Levin claimed, "Perhaps she's telling us she's coming to terms with the fact she won't be around forever.”

"She's a spiritual and religious woman. Perhaps she's prepared to go on in her role but recognises that she's getting older."
