‘Screaming, crying, throwing up’: All because ALDI said goodbye to this!

Even the most loyal shoppers can miss the quiet disappearance of a household favourite—until it’s too late.

One much-loved supermarket item has recently vanished from shelves, leaving some Australians scratching their heads and others voicing their disappointment.

The retailer has now confirmed the news, and not everyone is taking it well.

Even the most dedicated ALDI shoppers didn’t realise something had gone missing—until it was too late.

After months of confusion and speculation online, ALDI Australia confirmed this week that one of its most popular sweet treats had quietly been discontinued, with the item last available back in November 2024. For many fans, the news was both surprising and deeply disappointing.

Social media threads had been filling with questions about the product’s mysterious disappearance.

One puzzled customer wrote: ‘Has this been discontinued? It’s no longer on the website, and I haven’t seen it in store. I’ve been wanting to try it for ages and now this happens.’

While some were only just noticing its absence, others had been tracking its vanishing act for a while.

‘I think so, my family were regular buyers of it. Easily the best Choceur by a margin. Unfortunately, we haven’t seen it around for the past 4–5 months,’ another user commented.

Someone else chimed in: ‘If so, this is a huge loss. My favourite chocolate.’

And then came the heartbreak many could relate to: ‘Screaming, crying, throwing up. Regretting not buying it when I had the chance to!’

The now-discontinued Choceur Coconut Crunch was a rich white chocolate bar blended with toasted coconut flakes—a combination that quickly earned cult status. Its departure left a coconut-shaped hole in the hearts of its fans.

Although Coconut Crunch has been axed, ALDI still stocked other Choceur flavours like White Coconut and Milk Coconut for those who needed a similar fix. Still, some loyal customers felt no substitute could quite measure up.

The chocolate range at ALDI remained extensive, which may explain why it took so long for the product’s absence to be noticed. Flavours such as Milk, Dark, Fruit & Nut, Dark Hazelnut, Milk Hazelnut, Dark Almond, Milk Almond, Rum & Raisin, Dark Caramel Sea Salt, Caramel and Dark Peppermint kept the shelves looking full.

There were also more experimental options like Crunchy Salted Caramel, Salted Pretzel, Coffee & Cream, Hazelnut Praline and Peanut Butter.

And according to some shoppers, a Milky Caramel variety—though not listed online—was still turning up in stores.

For those on the hunt for smaller treats, ALDI also offered packs of five mini blocks at $4.99. These included flavours like Marzipan, Dark Chocolate, Hazelnut Creme, Hazelnut, White and Milk.

As if that weren’t enough temptation, ALDI had recently jumped on the Dubai chocolate trend.

From 25 June, shoppers could find Hugos Pistachio Bombs in stores—a 100 gram pack for $4.99. Made with premium Aussie milk chocolate, they promised a luxe experience filled with ‘creamy pistachio and crunchy knafeh to replicate the textures and flavours of the global phenomenon—no passport required’, ALDI Australia said.
