When it comes to seasonal bargains, some deals vanish quicker than you can say ‘Special Buys’.
One retailer has quietly restocked a winter favourite and launched a sweet new treat that’s already sending shoppers into a spin.
Here’s what Australians are rushing to grab before it disappears from shelves again.
When it came to winter style and seasonal sweets, ALDI had customers racing to their nearest store once again.
The supermarket chain quietly brought back a knitwear range that had proven wildly popular in past years, with shoppers singing its praises for offering luxury-level blends at bargain prices.
And this time around, it wasn't just fashion drawing attention―a decadent dessert release also had foodies across the country talking.
Alex Hourigan, known for cohosting the Two Broke Chicks podcast, was one of the first to share the knitwear news online after spotting the fresh drop at her local store.
In a video uploaded to social media, she didn’t hold back her excitement: ‘Literally run to ALDI because they’ve just dropped some wool and cashmere winter basics that are an absolute steal.’

The latest knitwear collection featured a blend of merino wool and cashmere, all priced under $50. Options included Wool Cashmere Blend Tops for $39.99, Knitwear at $49.99, and Merino Wool Knit Tops for $29.99―all available in classic shades like black, cream and grey.
As temperatures dipped, customers were quick to respond.
‘They do them every year. Great staples for winter,’ one shopper wrote.
‘Love!’ added another.
‘OMG obsessed,’ said a third.
With prices and quality that left many stunned, it was little wonder the shelves began to clear fast. ALDI fans knew too well that these Special Buys wouldn’t be around for long.
But while fashion lovers were snapping up affordable staples, dessert devotees had something else to celebrate.
Last month, ALDI launched a new autumn treat that blended the cult-favourite flavour of Biscoff into a mousse layered with indulgence. The sweet creation featured a crumb base, a thick mousse centre, and a topping of Biscoff spread.
Melbourne foodie Nectro Vlangos, better known on social media as Nectorious Papi, didn’t hold back in his review: ‘It’s heaven in a cup.’ He dubbed it a ‘Biscoff overload from bottom to top’.

Sydney-based vlogger Samantha Khater echoed the sentiment, giving it a perfect score. ‘Full of flavour,’ she wrote, rating it a ‘10/10’.

Still, not everyone found the richness appealing for more than a few bites. ‘So good but very sickly by the end,’ one person commented on social media. Others agreed it was ‘too sweet’ for their liking, even though they couldn’t resist recommending it to friends.
Kylie Warnke, ALDI Shopping Expert, said the new additions reflected the brand’s commitment to surprising shoppers.
‘Just like with our Special Buys range, we always look to surprise and delight our customers when we add deliciousness to our Limited Time Only range,’ she said. ‘This selection is all about treating your friends, family and yourself with quality meals, tasty treats and desserts without breaking the budget.’
And ALDI wasn’t done yet. Alongside the Biscoff mousse, more than 250 other items hit shelves this month―including Sweet Haven Apple Pie Spring Rolls ($4.99), Toblerone Lava Cakes ($4.99) and the Ready, Set.. Cook! Beef Stir Fry Meal Kit ($13.99).
Back in March, ALDI also revived another fan favourite: its cast-iron cookware collection. The Crofton range returned to the middle aisle on 12 March.
Known for mimicking the high-end style of French brand Le Creuset, the budget-friendly cookware included a 24cm frypan for $9.99, a 40cm version at $12.99, mini pots and pans from $4.99, and utensils as low as $1.99.
The resemblance to designer pieces―like Le Creuset’s $410 Signature Cast Iron Saucepan and $320 Frying Pan―sparked excitement, especially given ALDI’s range came in stylish shades of red, green and blue. With all containers and utensils also being dishwasher safe, the rush to grab them was inevitable.
As with all limited-time offerings from ALDI, shoppers were urged to act quickly―because once it was gone, it was gone.
With everyday costs climbing, finding quality at a fair price matters more than ever—especially when it comes to the weekly shop.
If you’ve ever wondered whether ALDI really lives up to the hype, this quick clip lays it all out.
Give it a watch and let us know—have you found better value elsewhere?

With so many classic comforts making a comeback at bargain prices, what’s your favourite ALDI find that’s stood the test of time? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
In a previous story, we looked at a legal clash between ALDI and a snack giant over a surprisingly familiar-looking biscuit box—proof that even bargain buys can stir up big headlines.
For older Aussies who’ve watched brands evolve over the years, it raised interesting questions about imitation, innovation and where the line should be drawn.
If you’re curious about how that one unfolded, it’s definitely worth a look.
