Bec Hardgrave, a fitness coach from Brisbane, has been sharing her low-calorie recipes on social media for a while now. This time, she made her own version of the popular Hungry Jack’s Whopper burger - minus half the calories!
“Did you know the original version contains almost 800 calories? Well, my version is 390 calories and over 30 grams of protein,” she said.
“It’s so delicious, so simple to make, and I guarantee you it’s better than the real thing.”

To recreate a healthier version of the popular menu item, you will need:
- 1 x Aldi Brioche Bun
- 100g Lean Beef Mince
- 1 x Slice of Coles Brand Smokey Cheese
- 15g Fountain low-sugar tomato sauce
- 15g Praise low-fat mayonnaise
- 5g Pickles
- Lettuce
- Onion
- Tomato
Then, she cooked the beef patty in a hot pan and seasoned it with salt and pepper. Once golden on both sides, she placed a slice of Coles’ smokey cheese on top.
She also recommended flame grilling the meat to get the authentic taste.
In the same pan, she toasted the Aldi brioche bun using the leftover fat.
After cooking, she started to assemble the burger by placing the patty with the melted cheese on the bottom bun.
Then in the middle, she added a drizzle of Fountain low-sugar tomato sauce and five grams of pickles. Then raw onion rings, sliced tomatoes and lettuce. To finish, she added Praise low-fat mayo sauce to the top bun and placed it over the lettuce.
Comments flooded with many saying they couldn’t wait to make the healthy burger recipe at home.
“Need to add this to my list. I’m burger-obsessed,” said one fan.
Others who have already tried the recipe claimed that Bec’s version tasted just as good as the original.
“Had this for dinner last night, game-changer,” wrote one person, while another added: “I tried it last night - so yummy.”
