Struggling to make ends meet? Upcoming Centrelink boost still not enough for Aussies

When will you stop deceiving your readership. This is INDEXATION, not an inrease. In fact, their hasn't been a reall increase in age pensions in living memory. Indexation is catch up; we've already paid the increased costs and prices so all this does is bring us back up to the poverty line...

Over 4.7 million Australians to get a Centrelink payment boost - Here’s how much more money you could be receiving!

Little People? Guess you'd be a big person then. And clearly not relying on 'welfare', a term I resent. Welfare is something give free; a pension has been earned by paying tax for 60 years.

Over 4.7 million Australians to get a Centrelink payment boost - Here’s how much more money you could be receiving!

A whole $37 a fortnight between my wife and I. Gosh, we’d better not spend it all at once!

Check your emails now – you may be eligible for free steak and seafood from Woolworths!

Yes, I would. IF I COULD. I've been a Rewards member for about 15 years or more but have never heard of this BUNCH. I'm an age pensioner and will take anything I can get that helps me buy food that I can't otherwise afford. Like meat. Like fish and seafood. Like eggs.

Centrelink recipient shares $100 fortnightly grocery haul: 'People who believe Jobseekers are out here living the life are wrong'

I really resent it when you, and other people, refer to being on a pension as 'welfare.' It's not welfare. It's not a freebie. I have paid far more in tax over the last 60 years since I started work at the age of 16 than I will ever get back in the pension. My pension is the return on the...

Why Australia ‘isn't all it's cracked up to be’, according to this expat

I have to say that had I known in 1969 when I emigrated what Australia was going to be like in 2022 I would never have come. Oz was one of the best places on earth then, even if you weren't rich. But today you have to be wealthy to survive, otherwise you're doomed to live in poverty. Back then...

Is your retirement at risk? Pensions take a turn in Australia

I don’t understand the point of the article. The Australian Age Pension is set by legislation, indexed for inflation and hasn’t changed except for the indexed increases in living memory. Certainly we are still below the poverty line, but none of the factors mentioned in the article have any...

2022-3 Federal Budget Predictions: Pensioners set to win big

In other words, nothing extra for pensioners. Indexation is enshrined in legislation and the biannual increase simply compensates us for the increase in costs that have gone before. Nobody can remember when there was last a REAL increase in pensions. So it still keeps us below the poverty line...

Largest pension increase in more than 12 years announced as the cost of living soars

How deceitful is this Labor government, and your report colludes with them in their deceit by simply reiterating their propaganda. 1. The Age Pension is NOT effing welfare. It is the return on the investment we have made by paying our taxes for 50+ years. It's our entitlement and our right! 2...
