I get less than $50k per annum, that is from 3 pensions from the UK, (two have been frozen since 2007), and my Aussie Aged pension, yet out of that $50k I paid over $10k in tax. Not so sure about the fine, they should certainly be charged the cost of the operation for their recovery, otherwise someone will be out of pocket for their stupid action.
