    There have always been towns that are smaller that have no bank branches and many that do don't accept loan applications. Even in the city the smaller branches do not do loans, you are referred to their larger branch or someone may come out, or online.

    And NBN have stated that the price is not changing. You could also go to a slower plan with lower price.

    If you currently have FTTP, which is required to get the high speeds, you likely have a suitable modem/router as well. Gold plated cables, overkill, this is not life or death stuff, it's just internet and will work good enough in most situations where high speeds are possible.

    Labour lie? The roll-out was slowed by the Liberals, Tony Abbott and Malcolm Turnbull. Seems your memory is failing you. And you do have fast internet access by using satellite services.

    Who are "they" you mentioned? NOT the government, a private business that deals in property and their head person said. Do you really think everytime a business puts out a brain fart that the government does it? Absolutely not. Too many people hear/read something and accept it as a done deal.

    Credit cards are unsecured loans. Do not overdraw them, do not be late paying them. If you can't afford to run a credit card do not have one, use your own money.

    There are two different tests that are applied when getting a pension. The Assets Test (that you mentioned) and the Income Test.
