Yeah, those cents add up, lol

113 workers thought it was just another shift…then THIS retail giant collapsed

Many of these stores closing are high priced stores, selling goods made by the same factories that make KMart goods and selling them for massive profits, people are waking up, people can't afford to keep paying say $100 for a shirt that they can buy similar for $20 elsewhere. And small...

Why Australia Post's cashless move has seniors up in arms

Total control? Why do they want total control? And who are "they"?

Your age pension could drop by $203 a fortnight: Major deeming rate changes hit 460,000 Australians

The discussions are to reduce the amount you must drawdown, what's wrong with that? It's not a maximum and you can always drawdown more. "total control"??? You must drawdown a set percentage starting at 4%, that's all and you can put that back into an accumulation fund anyway if you want to...

Should cashless cafés be allowed to add mandatory fees? This café says yes

Rules and regulations are ALL online in 2025. Never been easier to find information, just takes a minute or two to look.

Should cashless cafés be allowed to add mandatory fees? This café says yes

Well that make no sense. Why should I have to pay for you. And if it's me at the store it's my decision to pay or not, I can walk away. No one is forcing you into a store.

Should cashless cafés be allowed to add mandatory fees? This café says yes

And obviously you do not know what that means. It means it's the cash that's used legally in Australia. You can't go to a store and pay with a US Dollar bill, it must be an Australian bill, BUT a store does not have to accept it if they do not want to, and they have a sign stating as such...

Should cashless cafés be allowed to add mandatory fees? This café says yes

Again, only if the retailer wants to. They certainly do not have an obligation to take cheques, worthless pieces of paper until presented and paid.

Should cashless cafés be allowed to add mandatory fees? This café says yes

That's nothing to do with fees, that's avoiding GST. And that is crap, everyone should pay their fair share of tax.

Should cashless cafés be allowed to add mandatory fees? This café says yes

YOU present the card to the terminal and they all have the amount there to see. You don't need to see the screen they use to process the order.

Should cashless cafés be allowed to add mandatory fees? This café says yes

So you have NO right to tell them what you want to do, thank you.

Should cashless cafés be allowed to add mandatory fees? This café says yes

Please cite the relevant law that says we have a "right" to pay the way we want? As a customer you have the right to walk away, you have the right to not go in. A retailer does not have an obligation to service you. Now, please cite the law you are referring to?

Should cashless cafés be allowed to add mandatory fees? This café says yes

As long as there is a sign they legally do not have to accept cash.
  14. Greg350

Should cashless cafés be allowed to add mandatory fees? This café says yes

It's very simple, if you don't like or want to pay the fee don't pay and walk out. No one is forcing you to buy a product at a particular store. When you go to use your card the amount is on the screen.....READ WHAT IT SAYS.

Secret innovation under traffic lights transforms daily travel experience

Yeah, cameras as I said, not "sensors".

Secret innovation under traffic lights transforms daily travel experience

Some roads they are coordinated, some aren't and some change depending on day/time. There's no set way they work, you'll sometimes see a car on a side road trigger the lights instantly while others still allow more time for main road traffic. There's one set of lights at Lindfield/Roseville in...

Secret innovation under traffic lights transforms daily travel experience

What sensors are there on poles? These ones they are talking about are for traffic lights. The cables running across the road count vehicles. And the newest one to count them is using cameras.

Secret innovation under traffic lights transforms daily travel experience

We have had average speed cameras in Australia for decades. Loops in the road do not identify the vehicle, they can't read number plates, that's what cameras do. I'm surprised you don't know this.
