When shopping trolleys become dog beds: Great supermarket pet debate rages on

Sorry, I don’t know what supermarket you buy from that washes fruit and vegetables, I have worked in fruit and veg departments of major supermarkets and my son still works at a supermarket. I checked with him and they do not wash fruit and vegetables , they are put straight on the shelves as...

When shopping trolleys become dog beds: Great supermarket pet debate rages on

Don’t you wash your fresh fruit and vegetables before cooking or eating them.? Do you really believe the food in the supermarket is clean, it has travelled from a farm , in trucks, stored in a warehouse, handled by any number of people? I’m sure when the food is growing it would have come in...

When shopping trolleys become dog beds: Great supermarket pet debate rages on

That is why as well as sanitising my trolley I also wash all fresh food before eating it. The food before it gets to the supermarket goes through a number of processes. Farmers handle it, warehouse people handle it, it’s in fields with animals and pesticides, it can travel from other countries...

When shopping trolleys become dog beds: Great supermarket pet debate rages on

I always sanitise my trolley before use, so I have no concerns about who or what has used the trolley be fore I do. I really am not concerned about assistance and service dogs in any shops as long as they are on leads , appropriately trained for their task and are well behaved. Pet dogs , not so...

Aussie brand transforms pet health with game-changing breakthrough

I thought that this sounded good for my old , arthritic dog, until I saw the price. $104 a bag, way out of my price range., and probably out of the price range for many here on pensions. I’ll just keep up with the Rose hip powder for my boy.

Council pet limits spark state-wide debate as families face 'heartbreaking' choices

This has been around for many years in SA, it usually works ok, I could have 4 dogs at my property with a special permit when my parents passed, but they could not be replaced by puppies. But , I do see this making an animal abuse situation. What happens to the animals that are no longer...

Upgrades to WA public transport payment system due online by end of year

Your final $75 electricity lifeline arrives in October—just as power prices surge up to 10 per cent

I have to disagree, I live in housing trust. The trust replaced all my gas appliances with electrical, no gas anymore, and I have found over the three months that my electricity bill is significantly cheaper and no gas to pay. This is great for me and I would recommend going all electric if possible

Fined $237,000 for hiring someone to remove a century-old tree—fair punishment or too harsh?

This is very relevant to hear and I really wish we would do more for tree conservation. When I moved into my house 20 years ago there were large trees on the fence line , that were old and had been purposely left when the houses were built . They were on the neighbours property, but council...

Great payment divide: Amazon's Afterpay move highlights how different generations shop

I use Afterpay and I love it. I have always paid on time or before time , so no late fees and no interest. I love to split my large bills in 4. Or to buy a large item I would otherwise not bother with. I am not and have never been a saver, but I always pay my bills on time. Problems with...

I clothes shop at Kmart , target. Big w I try for size either in store or at home . These shops apart from big w are easy to get a refund, usually have 30 to 90 days. I know it’s not Australian made , but even DJs and Myers clothing is from o/s. I often use the local op shop for a bit of variety

Updated price promise drives bigger savings for customers up to $3000

I would do my weekly shopping at Aldi , if they had a larger range of products. There are so many grocery items that are not avail in Aldi. I do most of my shopping between Comes and Woolies and only go to Aldi for the things I know are cheaper ie mini pizza. Meat pies.
