Our house had two electric hot water systems. We had both replaced by Heat Pump systems 18 months ago. These were installed free by our South Australian Govt. who were carrying out this service for all Age Pensioners. 👍

Wholeheartedly agree Jan. Pay high taxes all your working life, then have to fight for your Age Pension. Absolutely everyone should be entitled to the full whack! I read that there was provision for the full Age Pension around 30 years ago, but some greedy Politicians diverted the pot of money...

Having paid a fair amount for my Dyson cleaner, I would not mess about with the battery in case it damaged the machine.

I agree. If the Bank had wrongly handed her money to someone else she would have been furious. We expect Banks to compensate us if scammed, so should adhere to their attempts to prevent fraud. However I do dislike how we are supposed to do everything online nowadays. 🙁

I have to agree with you Big M. They must employ ex-real estate writers. eg ‘Three spacious bedrooms’ - which would require knocking into two and even then they would still be tiny! 🤣🤣

Agreed! Time for them to get honest jobs and stop living off their titles. They showed their true worth when they abandoned Royal life in UK, but still expect to be treated as such. Bah!

Having experienced the death of someone where I used to work, it rates as one of the worst days of my life. No matter the cause or who was to blame, his Wife (who also worked there) and their two Children have had to continue their lives without him. 😔

When I came to live in Oz 35 years ago, I was a little rattled by being asked to show inside bags and handbag on the way out of some shops. I’m used to it now, and having nothing to hide just comply and head on my way. I thought self serve checkouts already checked things by weight, so wonder...

I dislike Starbucks ’coffee’ also, but it’s less hassle and of course less ‘news worthy‘ to just avoid visiting their stores. 👍

My niece worked for La Petite France cafe & patisserie in Adelaide many years ago. At close of business each night employees could select two small cakes to take home. The remaining items had to be thrown into the rubbish bin. 🙁

Looks like a good idea, but too much hassle to make. Would be happy to buy one and try it out.

Woolworths announced months ago that they were getting rid of bags for fruit and veg. So I bought some of their reusable ones. They didn’t get rid of the bags, so I am still carrying them around unused in the pocket of a bag. Should really use them. 🙂
