    So were the ice cream boys. Racing from one theatre to another especially in the city. A tray loaded with ice cream usually drumsticks. It meant you didn’t need to leave your seat at interval if you didn’t want to. My husband did that as a second job in the evenings and on Saturday.

    The other thing I have just remembered is the wash board, where if something was extra dirty you rubbed it on the wash board. That was hard work too, especially when Dad wore overalls to work and they were covered in grease. Wow the memories come flooding back.

    Cole’s Cafeteria

    Mum always took us to the city(Sydney) for the Christmas caves and Santa Claus and part of that very special day was lunch in Cole’s Cafeteria. It was back in the 40’s, 50’s for us and such a wonderful day out. A wonderful day with my beautiful mum, my sister and me.
