More cafes are ditching price tags—and the reason isn’t what you’d expect

Nope as per one of the comments "No price No purchase" I'd go elsewhere out of principle- same as if they want to add a sneaky surcharge without letting me know!

Seconds before the blaze: Arsonists caught in Penrith attack

And I bet if they are caught there won't be an $825,000 fine (if any consequences at all), unlike the poor ebike business owner for non-compliance (if he hires out ebikes with batteries that potentially may catch fire he could cop such a harsh fine- a soft target it seems gets harsher penalties...

Seconds before the blaze: Arsonists caught in Penrith attack

Lucky for you they never came back & tried to torch your house like this story!

Be honest—would you travel to a town if you couldn’t hire a bike there?

Yer I'm all for safety, but I'm still trying to get my head around the $825,000 fine for non compliance, a business trying to do the right thing, as well as survive & pay bills (& paying taxes, etc) gets harsher penalties than the criminals these times (aggravated burglaries, car thefts...

The financial trick that can stretch your retirement by decades

If we could get 8% return on our super without admin fees, charges, etc every year wouldn't it be grand? Or if we could get 4% on our bank interest without paying so much tax on it how good would that be! If only we could have a crystal ball to know EXACTLY what the share markets (& super, etc)...

It's not just super companies, but so many big business are legalised robbers, untouchable (govt do nothing to protect the hard working tax payers- tho they try to convince us that they do by having a royal commission into supermarkets, banks & the likes & what comes of those? Yet if we hard...

Thousands face $400 surprise power bills—here's why you CAN'T fight it

It stinks for those customers either way & would be a nasty shock, especially if it's not a genuine error but I guess if those customers had been overcharged accidentally they'd be wanting their overpayment refunded so it's probably fair but a bitter pill

Are Gen Z Aussies onto something? How bold cash move led to a $97 fine

Court system got it so wrong, what a disgrace! There is no room in this place for people without enough money to survive they just get punished! So true re murderers being allowed to go free (& protecting criminals whilst penalising the battlers)! 30% voted this govt in - it's all a wrought...

The government has asked for bold proposals. Maybe it’s time to consider taxing the family home

Agree, but with a housing shortage already, would have to think this move will deter people from renting out their home/room in their home & thus potentially leaving even more people homeless! Ludicrous!

Advocates call for elder abuse laws as one in seven senior Territorians face family abuse

Yer the law is powerless to intervene yet (as per story above this one) if victims intervene (ie stick up for/defend themselves) they are penalised...disgraceful laws

Want to see your family more often? This government perk could help pay for it

Hmm gotta wonder if all students are eligible or just certain nationalities! Pity this wasn't on offer when my kids had to leave for the city to go to uni, but then again he/we wasn't/weren't eligible for anything much, which sucked considering those living in the city didn't have to fork out...

It takes 10 minutes a day—but it could save you $260 at the grocery checkout

Good for you if it works, but I find it hard to trust - how do we know we are not getting scammed, or spied on/personal data breaches are so common these days?
