Social media erupts as wealthy 88-year-old widow asks for pension support

OMG if she took an extra $15,000 out of her $680,000 not counting interest Ed earned she would have enough for another 45 years and that's not including the $180,000 in shares. My Mum is 92 on her own now, owns her home and lives on the age pension as her only income, with only a few $thousand...

Exciting ‘modern’ update to Bunnings' sausage sizzles!

I love my snag at Bunnings, with onions too and supporting a local charity. I'm hoping they will still be taking cash as I won't use my phone for tap and go payments. Cash or card tap for me, but I always carry some cash.

Are Coles & Woolworths driving up your grocery costs? Discover the truth behind this supermarket giant duopoly

Totally agree. I just don't understand how they can justify some of their price increases. Some items have gone up by $2 each, when they are buying this stock by the truck loads. I understand going up by10, 20 or 50 cent not $1, $2 or more er item. The problem is some of us live in towns or...

Is the era of smoking coming to an end with this new legislation? Tobacco industry set for a seismic shift!

Do they reallty think that putting health warnings on the cigarettes and leaflets in the packets, is going to make a difference? Smokers arent going to read them. If the government was genuinely serious on stopping smoking and vaping they would just ban them altogether. Problem is the...

Extra income relief? Coalition backs JobSeeker boost

The problem is that the requirements to find work vary from person to person. Some just don't want to work and know all the ways of getting out of it, like "personal crisis", "someone in the family has died again", "need an exemption for cultural reasons" or get bogus medical exemptions. Whereas...

Extra income relief? Coalition backs JobSeeker boost

I understand that times are very tough out there. However, my daughter has been working with employment agencies for many years and has said that this extra money is not going to encourage the long term habitual unemployed into the workforce. There are so many that know all the lurks and perks...

Shoppers are fuming over this 'frustrating' Kmart checkout detail! Do you agree?

I don't like the Kmart checkouts being in the middle of the store. I've quite often stood in long queues only to be told there are no manned checkouts & only self serve available, which I don't want to use. Then as I'm walking away from the checkouts see something in the front of the store...

Shopper accuses Woolworths of 'daylight robbery' after being charged excessive grocery prices

What really annoys me the most, is no prices marked on the items or shelves. Constantly trying to find a staff person to ask what the price is and especially in stores that don't have a price-check machine available. 😠

Shopper accuses Woolworths of 'daylight robbery' after being charged excessive grocery prices

Especially now when they want you to go paperless, so then you don’t have a docket in your hand to immediately check. I won't go paperless for anything. I had a similar thing happen at BigW but I noticed it as soon as I left and went straight back to the store for a refund.

Discover the new feature at Coles that will revolutionise the way you shop!

Paper bags is what was used many years ago, so why not go back to paper bags like we use when getting mushrooms. I did buy some of those net bags and they work just fine for small fruit and veg but don't fit a large Lettuce or cauliflower.

Discover the new feature at Coles that will revolutionise the way you shop!

People have their groceries delivered because they don't have enough time or are just unable to go to the store. So why and how are they expected to go to the store to return these boxes? Why not just return them to the delivery driver on their next order and they should be the collapsible boxes...

Hero or hothead? Controversial move by tradie at Bunnings sparks debate on social media

I only use this area if I have already paid for large bulky items in the store and just use the drive through for a quick pick up, like fencing timber, doors etc, things that are just too awkward to take through the front checkouts. Maybe they should have two lanes one for Tradies & another...

Traveller calls out 'the worst types' of airline passengers – do you agree?

I also don't like those passengers on planes that think it's OK to spill into my seat. I don't want their arms, legs or body pushed up against mine, stay in your own seat. Especially as I prefer a window seat and then find I'm cramped as they have lifted the arm rest and spread into my space...

Is Centrelink 'straight up refusing to take any calls'? Frustrated mum speaks out

My daughter who found herself out of work before Xmas has also been having these problems. First she couldn't upload the documents they required, then had to get new documents in a different format to reload them. Then they were still not happy with what she had submitted. So for the last 2...

Will paper receipts soon be a thing of the past? Kmart is going (mostly) digital using new 'smart' Aussie technology

Why don't they store your receipt in your Flybuys card when you swipe your card like Woolworths do with their Rewards card. When you go into your Rewards Ap you not only see where you have scored your points but also a copy of your receipt. They would probably capture more people than using a...

Kmart officially launches new REWARDS PROGRAM - here's what you need to know

I think if you buy alot online from Kmart and the other suppliers and are paying for delivery, then the cost is very good. But for me I usually buy from Kmart, Bunnings stores direct and very rarely buy anything from Catch, so at the moment I won't be joining.

Kmart officially launches new REWARDS PROGRAM - here's what you need to know

Flybys are not used just on flights. I have managed to accrue enough points to equate to $220, which I will be using for my Xmas food and possibly Xmas gifts too. I do the same with my Woolworths points , store them up all year to use at Xmas.

Woolworths shopper causes stir with self-checkout incident: ‘Machines are not our friends.’

This why I won't use self serve checkouts. On the rare occasions that I had to use them, something always goes wrong. Mind you I did realise that you have to check your items being scanned when using a normal staff assisted checkout, as I got home to find that they had charged me for the...

Vintage jar of Vegemite from the 1930s shocks Aussies with its serving suggestion – are you willing to give it a try?

OMG there is nothing better than fresh bread with lots of butter and lots of thick Vegemite!!!!🥰 or two slices of cheese spread with vegemite, it's a Vegemite & cheese sandwich without the bread.
