Tap-and-Go Nation: Inside Australia’s $160 Billion Cashless Boom

I'm 78 and don't have a problem with internet banking but still definitely Iike to have cash backup. Banks need to cut costs?? They've been cutting costs left, right and centre for years. The big 4 banks amassed a pretax profit of $44.6 BILLION last year. They pay their CEO's millions in...

Are you paying too much for love? ACCC slams famous dating site for 'catfishing' users!

Unfortunately it hasn't stopped me. Two parcels delivered just a few minutes ago, about a dozen more to come. Not all clothes though. New curtains, hallway runner, bedside mats, sheets, towels, new donna and cover, etc etc Is there anything they don't sell. I even buy my shampoo, make-up. etc

Are you paying too much for love? ACCC slams famous dating site for 'catfishing' users!

I have never had any problems with products from Temu. Global Shop Direct, on the other hand, are a different matter. Nothing I have bought from them has ever been good for purpose.

The Shocking Secret Behind Those Puzzling Aussie Number Plates Everyone's Talking About!

There's a csr parked near a friends house that has the number plate FARQ2, wonder how that slipped through. I also know someone who has t h e number plate ANGEL. It was given to her by an ex, who eventually found out how wrong he was. BITCH would have been more appropriate, but probably not...

Guess which legendary fashion brand just dropped at TVSN (and how you can shop it first)!

I have only seen passing glances of TVSN. What I have seen though were items that they were charging an arm and a leg for. That's a miss for me. I have pants and a striped top the same as that one shown. I've had them for about 5 years. Certainly nothing new.

Are Your Kids Safe on Flights? Mum Shocked by Stranger's Disturbing Request to Her 3-Year-Old

I have travelled a lot over the years and have found children are, on the whole, a minor problem. Try travelling with a football team., a bunch of drunken yobbos going to or coming home from Bali, Phuket, etc Not always the guys either, there's plenty of drunken foul mouthed females out there...

Are Your Kids Safe on Flights? Mum Shocked by Stranger's Disturbing Request to Her 3-Year-Old

I agree, only as far as some people's kids are just horrors and their parents just as bad. However, I totally disagree that it is appropriate to approach a complete strangers child, who is just waiting in a queue, and giving her a lecture on how she should behave on the plane. Even if the child...

Nest Egg Nightmare: $1.2bn Super Collapse Leaves Aussie Retirees Reeling

Why is it that when people make these shaky investments they then expect the government to pay up for their mistake. The average person is not skilled in financial investment and yet they make these stupid decisions to risk their super because some complete stranger rings, out of the blue...

Are bad tenants wrecking your community? The push for tougher penalties you need to know about

There is the same problem with Srate Housng in WA and I should imagine it is the same in all states. Time and again, you hear of bad tenants just being moved into another home, despite having wrecked the previous one. I personally know of a woman who has trashed two properties and has been moved...

Disability employment provider Bedford to go into voluntary administration

Same thing as what happened with Activ on WA. These places ran for years, offering support and employment for people with disabilities and if the goody two shoes, know-it-all, know nothing's had kept their nose in their own business, they would probably still be operating. For the people working...

    Facing Your Demons

Thank you for your response. Unfortunately, here we are two years later and nothing has changed with my son. He was no sooner out of hospital and back on the meth. He is currently in prison, again. He gets picked up on driving offences, driving unlicensed, unregistered car, off his face and...

Kmart pet product divides dog owners as debate heats up

There was a video at the end of the article showing the full crate, front door and all. It’s definitely a crate.

She cried, her daughter screamed—all because they found THIS in their tin of beans

As much as I certainly wouldn't want to find anything in a can I had opened I really can't imagine how this sort of thing can be completely halted. It's not as if someone deliberately puts foreign bodies in the cans, they are filled automatically by machines and accidents do happen. When you...

The aisle’s empty and so are we: Loyal shoppers left reeling as ALDI and Coles quietly drop fan favourites

I am addicted to the Nescafe Hazelnut sachets, but I always stock up big when they are on special so I hadn't noticed that they were out of stock. Had noticed however that the 26 pack is now $12.50, up from $11.00, still a lot cheaper than the 10 pack that is nearing $9 for 10. I tried the Aldi...

Shocking price of everyday Aussie essential leaves British expats in disbelief

Yes, fuel may be more expensive in Europe but they don't have to travel the same distances as some of us do here in WA. To take my daughter to her hospital visits its a 6 hour round trip. We are very lucky that we are compensated very well through the PATS scheme. We were very pleased to...

It’s not too late to save using cash—but time is running out!

But obviously if they can get their customers to pay, then more profits for them and their shareholders . No service for customers these days. I can recall when my husband and I first started flipping houses. We would go into the bank to borrow for another house. We would be taken into the...

It’s not too late to save using cash—but time is running out!

The banks make astronomically obscene profits every year, but it seems they don't seem to think they should have to cover any overheads, just pass them onto the customers . So they closed down their physical banks and instead provided ATMs, saving rents, wages, etc and then complain about...
