As a pensioner i have a regular weekly shop which has risen in recent months from around $60 to $85. much more than the inflation figure given by the government. Any increase in the food budget means money has to be taken from somewhere to cover it, which means cutting back on heating, doctors...

I refuse to use self serv in any store. The prices have a service cost included, so if i use self serv it is only extra profit for the store. I recently had to change chemists because my long term chemist went card only.

I have never seen a sink with a large opening like that. all ours have a metal plate just below the surface with holes in it to trap food particles, I am contemplating having the u bend replaced to remove the smell.

I still love a ploughman's lunch it was only ever, Bread, Cheese, and Branston style pickles. I have never seen meat with it, and have had it all over the UK.

While i welcome the money, sadly it will only last a few weeks. Looking forward to be able to buy some meat for a change, and visit my GP.

I only buy meat from a butcher shop. I can see and know what i am getting. Yes its more expensive, but far better quality.

I cannot speak highly enough of my local Australia post delivery drivers, they go beyond the contract. It is a different story as far as couriers and other companies are concerned, abysmal customer service.

Meat and fresh vegetables have become unaffordable. the government needs to look again food prices. Inflation in the shops is far higher than they think it is.

I remember when my local Bunnings insisted on a thick butchers sausage, butterflied and served on 2 slices of buttered bread with onion and sauce. Well worth the $2-50. Sorry a cheapo supermarket sausage on 1 slice of dry bread does not cut it for me.

I have learnt the hard way with packaged goods being underweight. I prefer to pay a bit more at the Butchers and get what i pay for.

Some Men's Sheds have retired trades people who are only too willing to assist with small jobs to help people in need.

No problem here. Use by dates were not around for most of my life and i still ignore them. If it looks OK and smells ok i use it.
