    Lavender Farm

Just absolutely stunning. I love lavender - my Mum used to have Yardley's lavender talcum powder and I always loved the fragrance.

    Lamington drives

I remember having a lamington drive at work (hospital) as a fundraiser. It was such a messy job coating them in chocolate and then rolling in coconut. After working on these for about 4 hours I swore I would never want to see another lamington in my life! But I reneged and now I love them as...

Competition winner announcement & a special gift from Ergoflex

Many thanks to all the members who have sent their best wishes to us re winning the mattress. I first injured my back in 1975 and have had pain ever since. Like many people as we age the osteo arthritis also kicks in and some days it is very hard to get about. I used to find it hard to get...

    1970s Cars

The car I learnt to drive in was a second hand EH Holden, white, column shift and heavy as lead. No power steering then! But I did love the front quarter windows you could open and get a nice breeze as you drove along. The other downside was the vinyl seats which were hot as hell if you didn't...

Competition winner announcement & a special gift from Ergoflex

Update on the new Ergoflex mattress - last night I slept like a baby for 6 hours straight - unheard of for me who usually tosses and turns and never really gets comfortable. I am really loving this new mattress.

    Vintage Mugs

Yes we had them in different colours - they were very sturdy and a good size. These were long before the amazing mugs you can buy now with logos, photos etc.

Competition winner announcement & a special gift from Ergoflex

I was thrilled when told I had won the competition. The mattress just arrived today so will let you all know what it is like - apparently it can take 2-3 weeks to get used to it. Memory foam feels very comfortable and is good for people with back pain, arthritis etc. Many thanks to Ergoflex...

    Waterbed

Yes we had one and it was comfortable - it was good in winter because the water was heated. In the end because my husband got sick a lot and couldn't cope with the rocking motion of the bed when either of us moved we went back to a conventional mattress and base. It was definitely a craze of...

What are you thankful for this year?

That we have survived another year and health is not too bad. Also my daughter and her two girls have been staying with us while their house is being built. Estarra is 6 and Aisling is 17 months so it gets a bit noisy and hectic at times!

    Cabbage Kids

A lot of people loved them but I always thought they were pretty ugly. I couldn't believe they released them again years later.

Funding rules shift as NDIS restructures support framework

One of the biggest problems with the huge cost of the NDIS is the exhorbitant cost of equipment. How companies can justify what they overcharge clients is beyond me. Perhaps if these costs could be reined in then more people who desperately need assistance could be helped. The Aged Care...

    Milking a cow

We rescued 24 battery hens and brought them home to our semi rural house and garden. It was such a delight to release them from their travelling cartons and see them stretch and peck in the grass like chooks should. They were a pretty moth eaten bunch because as battery cages are so small all...
