Eighty drivers face license loss and heavy fines over mobile phone use

I’m not surprised people still use their phones whilst driving, but I also don’t understand that and why they do it, considering the safety aspect and the huge fines. Put your phone in your bag or turn it on plane mode while your driving. NO phone call is worth killing someone for

My licence is due on my birthday every 5 years, but these days, I also have to have a medical every year to keep it…. Queensland always had licences due on your birthday when I got mine in 1962. It was easy to remember. I have a reminder in my phone calendar once a week for a month leading up...

Monarchist groups criticise premiers for absent reception during royal visit

Every premier, except maybe the WA Premier, could have left their state in the afternoon, gone to the banquet and been home by midnight or next morning. I’m pretty sure none of them would have refused an invitation during Queen Elizabeth’s visit, but the new King and his wife don’t seem to...

Everyone has a camera in the pockets these days. Following an incident in Brisbane a couple of years ago, my granddaughter now has her phone ready to snap and takes a photo of where she was sitting when she gets out. The owner of the car is not going to take off while the back door is still...

Post paralysis: Australia Post faces stampede of complaints over delivery fails!

If I’m expecting a parcel, I open my front door and the screen door. Anyone can see that there is someone home. My door is 6 METRES from the gate. I’ve tried to attract their attention when they’re putting the card in the mail box. The main excuses they use that are noted are locked gate….dog…...

Balmain shoppers beef with Woolworths over deli closure and price hike!

We stopped buying deli ham a loooong time ago. We get a leg portion that costs $10.31 a kilo in the meat section at Coles. Take into account the piece of bone and the fat, it’s still way cheaper than sliced ham $30 and soooo much nicer than the processed sliced or shaved ham from the deli if...
