Cash at risk? Seniors groups reveal shocking truth behind new mandate

All well and good in theory but it’s not as easy as just change banks. We tried to move form ANZ to Commonwealth when our rural town branch closed and the ATM was out of order more often than in. We were told as we are retired and no longer ‘earning an income’ we won’t qualify for a credit card...

'Australia wins this one': Tourist’s reaction to Aussie service sparks debate

Wow and this is ’sparking a debate’? 😂😂 so many servic stations took their air hoses away due to vandalism. As for ’being stuck’ with paying to charge your EV, why the heck shouldn’t they pay? Everyone else has to pay for electricity, why shouldn’t EV owners? Man, some people are entitled!

Are you about to pay for this $122 million development? See how this change can affect you soon

Absolute disgrace on the councils behalf. Get rid of all the white collars who do nothing. We thought ours was bad enough when they discovered our swimming lake had a leak. It went undetected for several years because the stupid council worker didn’t know how to read a meter and thought it was...

Is Medicare on the brink of collapse? See how it can affect senior care soon

It’s the same in our rural town. We have a couple of part time GP’s. 6 month waiting list for an appointment and they only bulk bill pensioners. $100 for a consult. My husband went to the Emergency room in our town hospital with groin pain and they told him he had to go see a GP.

‘We have been unable to achieve a sale’: Why two popular chains are closing for good

I agrée with you. We are the same in our regional SA town. The population would be higher as it also serves several outlying small towns that only have basic shops. We will lose 6 stores. 300 klms to the nearest shopping hub which will also be losing lots of stores.

‘We have been unable to achieve a sale’: Why two popular chains are closing for good

This is going to hit regional towns hard. (our nearest town 50 klms) we will lose 6 stores. we don’t have Target. We have a small Big W, K mart, tiny Best&Less and a few expensive boutiques. looks like I won’t be buying anything new any more as I am not a regular size and have to try clothes on.

‘We have been unable to achieve a sale’: Why two popular chains are closing for good

100% agree with you. I can’t buy clothes or shoes on line! Unless I’ve been into the store to try things on and they haven’t had my colour choice in stock.

‘We have been unable to achieve a sale’: Why two popular chains are closing for good

They destroyed the stores by only stocking poor quality at all of the stores. And remember lots of rural people have no choice but to shop on line.

'It's just too dangerous': Councils push greater fines for offenders of this one pedestrian rule

Absolutely agree with you. I used to ride my bike for exercise on the bike paths in Perth. Quite often a group of Lycra clad cyclists came speeding past me yelling at me to get off the path out of their way. I was a quite competent rider so was definitely not crawling along.

Thankfully our water tanks are above ground and have mesh filters as well as dual filters to the house! But cleaning them is not so easy when you only have one tankfull and they tell you the entire tank has to be dumped so they can vacuum.

Discover how Peter Dutton's latest Centrelink proposal could affect your benefits!

The card was introduced so kids could get fed properly. If you’re happy to let the irresponsible drunken bums spend all their money on alcohol while the kids go hungry then good on you. 😡. 60 or 70% would be better though.

It’s only capital gains tax. Not for your private residence if you have lived there for a certain length of time. 2 years I think.
