    Old shops

My first job was at Coles 50 years ago, looked exactly like this for a couple of years when Coles New World kicked off then all changed. Dress code back then was smart casual and a bloody tie.

Can you outsmart this nearly undetectable Australia Post scam? Online shopper gives urgent advice

This scam has been around for a fair while (about 5-6 months ago). I received 2 emails from these scammers within days of each other. I clicked on the sender and showed nothing to do with Australia Post. I forwarded these onto ScamWatch then blocked the scam. Any parcel’s delivery, I get a text...

Is cash still king? Westpac customer protests bank's treatment of cash transactions

My last transaction with a bank (which bank) was to pay out my home loan. I had won a large amount in a lottery and I was given the 3rd interrogation on where this money came from, fortunately I had a letter from lottery to shove into their faces, apparently you aren’t allowed to staple it to...

Exciting news for Burger Lovers! Wendy's to open 200 stores in Australia by 2034

This could go the way that Starbucks went. All pomp and ceremony when opening hundreds-ish cafes around Australia and within about 12 months, dwindled to only a handful. Obviously, Aussies don’t like Starbucks and going by the look of Wendy’s burgers, it will only make Aussies have health...

New taskforce launched by federal government, ASIC and ACCC to combat bogus bankers and foolhardy financiers

I received a scam text that seemed super legitimate regarding an undeliverable package from Australia Post. It said to input personal details and it supplied a Tracking number. So I went to the local PO and was told that number didn’t exist. I just deleted it and moved on with my life.

Viral sign from a tradie sparks wider debate: Effects of raised retirement age extend beyond seniors

LNP were the ones that increased the pension eligibility age. I am sure that this idea was embedded into their legislation. I’m glad we voted them out. Albo is in a position to knock this down. If he doesn’t, well, he may be just as bad.

A small detail in this Coles photo has customers fuming: 'Happens every day'

We’ve all seen frozen goods on open shelves and it really pisses me off. If the item/s are still frozen, I put them back. Just don’t get me started on the shopping trolleys.

‘Am I Really Elderly?’ Seniors Weigh in on the Age Debate

I’ve been called middle aged, old codger (or other variants), elderly, and even ‘Young Fella’ by some ‘really old people’, which tickled me a bit. But, all in all, I don’t care. Some people get themselves offended by being called ‘Elderly’ etc but I think it is a badge of honour to be called...
