ANZ faces backlash over $56,000 scam loss: Small business owner battle for accountability

If the cost of adding 3DSecure is a mere five cents per transaction, the bank should add it automatically on an opt out basis. Also, what happened to ANZ's Falcon technology. Why didn't that work?

At least the +$1 is clearly stated on the menu.

Woolworths shoppers slam car park behaviour showing '"I don't care" attitude'

Responsibility is a word that far too many people don't seem to understand. Trolleys taken away from the car park are a problem all over town. I've reported five pushed into a local creek just in the last month and probably 10 or a dozen every year. It's high time that anti-theft locking devices...

Countless Aussies make this critical mistake on roundabouts—find out if you do!

It seems to me that the dashcam driver did exactly the right thing. The golden rule is to give way to traffic already in the roundabout so the entering driver was at fault

Are You Guilty of These Infuriating Supermarket Habits That Everyone Hates? Find Out Now!

My wife recently picked up a pot of vitamin supplements, in the supermarket, which felt unusually light in weight. The seal had been broken and the pot was only about half full. (n)(n)(n)

Bin there, done that: Posties call out obstructive wheelie bins for mail mayhem

I've walked with the Christmas post in the UK a number of times. Most letter boxes are in the front door, not out by the pavement so we had to walk up almost every driveway. That's just the way it was and nobody complained. Access to the letter box is a different matter and a legitimate...

    SDC Trivia Game #450 - 18/08/2024

Re question 8; the lungs are the largest internal organ in the body. There is no doubt that the liver is the heaviest but with a capacity of about 6 litres, the lungs are much bigger than the liver at 1200-1500 ccs. Think: which is bigger, a 2 litre empty plastic water bottle, or a 750 ml bottle...

    SDC Trivia Game #445 - 13/08/2024

Re question 2; if Panama has a coast on both the Pacific and Atlantic, then so do Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Colombia. Technically, none of them do. The Caribbean Sea gets in the way. Canada, USA and, arguably, Chile are the only contenders.

Terrifying home invasion turns violent: Three victims face head-chopping threat

Lots of very valid comments to this already but can't resist adding my own. What a terrifying experience for those people. I hope they catch the bastards and string them up by their short and curlies.

Banks urge millions of Aussies not to ignore this important email: ‘It was legit’

I haven't heard from my bank either but having been a customer for more than 40 years I would hope they have everything they need to know. I too would have suspected a scam and contacted the bank by a proven method.

Homeownership vs. retirement savings: Debate over superannuation access heats up

It doesn't seem like a good idea to me. When people retire they might own their house (or maybe still have a mortgage) then have only a state pension to live on. Good luck with that! You can't buy food and pay the bills with a house. Such a move might also further inflate the housing market.
