Same here, I’m not fond of grocery shopping but my husband is quite happy to go. Works well for us.

'It's quite funny': Singer talks about her supermarket story making rounds online

This is exactly what a couple of friends who work at Woolworths told me a while back, though most people prefer to believe that self serve checkouts cost jobs. Gives them something to whinge about.

'You shouldn't be in this area': Police officer's reminders catch two adventurers off-guard

Life sentence should be for life. I always used to wonder why American courts gave sentences of 355 years etc, I totally understand why now.

Drink prices set to rise under new recycling scheme starting soon

Fortunately my local Woolworths is a five minute drive away, but I think that I’ll save any bottles & cans & give them to my great nephews so they can benefit a little.

Drink prices set to rise under new recycling scheme starting soon

It’s a bit typical of Tasmania and yet our state governments are always telling us what trend setters we are. Delusional lot! My husband said a few days ago when he noticed the machine thing in our local Woolies car park, that prices would be rising. Won’t affect me at all.

'Unacceptable and disgusting': Customer finds rat in salad at popular restaurant

Makes you wonder doesn’t it. My husband thought it sounded dodgy.

'You shouldn't be in this area': Police officer's reminders catch two adventurers off-guard

I totally agree that people should have to cover the rescue costs when they are in trouble due to their own stupidity. Here in Tasmania people are always being rescued from mountains because they wander off for a walk, no food or water, improper clothing & footwear and so on. One tourist even...

'Unacceptable and disgusting': Customer finds rat in salad at popular restaurant

How come whoever put the salad into a bowl for serving didn’t notice the rat? Surely they don’t serve it up in a box, sounds a bit strange actually. I’d have thrown up on the spot!

    New scam

My husband received a text this morning about his road tolls, so they are back again. I know the original scammers behind this were arrested so I assume someone else has decided to give it a go. No use sending them to Tasmanians, we don’t have tolls.

Shiny Windows in Minutes: The Secret Hacks Professionals Don’t Want You to Know

Thanks Ezzy. Our last house had double hung windows which were brilliant & screen removal was a breeze, but we didn’t build the house we now live in so I’m stuck with sliding ones. They really annoy me, cleaning the tracks is such a pain.

'I agreed to help someone buy essentials, but when we got to the checkout...'

Surely any one who was desperate wouldn’t expect top of the range stuff at someone else’s expense. I wouldn’t have paid for it either, but then she wouldn’t have made it as far as the check out with the stuff. I always buy my washing detergent when it’s on special at half price. Same with...

Shiny Windows in Minutes: The Secret Hacks Professionals Don’t Want You to Know

I have a Karcher window cleaner that does an amazing job inside & outside I use a bucket of water, dishwashing liquid & long handled squeeze thing. My husband often does outside because I can’t get the screens off, stupid sliding windows!
