Acclaimed director dies at 82, Australian film icon remembered

I do wish you would stop with these over-the-top headlines. Australia is not heartbroken over the death of this person. His family will be & my condolences to them but for the rest of us, most have never heard of him.

Pensioners face $3,300 Centrelink shock amid cost-of-living squeeze

Stop panicking. Unless you have a really large bank balance (which most of us don't have) then your pension is safe.

Pensioners face $3,300 Centrelink shock amid cost-of-living squeeze

How can you still be on a carer's payment if you are no longer caring for your father? That should have ceased when he passed away. I ceased receiving carer's payment when my mother was admitted to a nursing home as I was no longer caring for her & therefore was not entitled to this payment.

Is your retirement fund safe? One Aussie lost $50,000 overnight

Although it's a dream of many that this is true but when did Trump become FORMER US President Donald Trump? The world would be much better off if he was "former".

Are Australia's banking services changing soon? Bank chief reveals monumental changes ahead

Would you like to rewrite this in English that makes sense?

Are Australia's banking services changing soon? Bank chief reveals monumental changes ahead

I will never do online banking. That is the easiest way for scammers to access your bank a/c & steal your money & you have no idea they have done that until you go shopping again & your card is rejected due to lack of funds. I also don't understand apps or how to add them to my phone & have no...

Are Australia's banking services changing soon? Bank chief reveals monumental changes ahead

Our local op shop has a minimum spend of $10 to use a card. Otherwise, use cash. This keeps cash in the market place & saves the fees for the op shop

Are Australia's banking services changing soon? Bank chief reveals monumental changes ahead

I stated a fact & did not call you or anyone else names. Get your facts right before having a go at me.

'Are you a f******* idiot?': Police officer slams driver in one heated clash

No one, & I mean NO ONE, uses the f word to me & gets away with it. It is highly offensive & totally unnecessary. Learn to use the available adjectives in the English language to express your thoughts & feelings. This cop was on an ego trip because he saw someone do something stupid on the...

Are Australia's banking services changing soon? Bank chief reveals monumental changes ahead

It makes no difference whether you put your card in (whatever that really means) or tap. The charge has been added before I put my card anywhere near the machine. As a pensioner I cannot afford these rip-off charges so I either find another business which doesn't charge for card use or else I...

Are Australia's banking services changing soon? Bank chief reveals monumental changes ahead

Banks already check your spending using a card to determine your suitability for a loan. You think that there will not be other checks by govt etc as we are forced into this change?

'Everything is in packs': This CEO blew the lid off a $2,500 'scam' at supermarkets!

Lucky you to be able to afford to buy at regular price; and also to be able to go to the shops whenever you want without having to drive nearly 50km each way. So, buying in bulk & freezing is the best option for many of us. Even before I moved to a small country town & lived in a large...

'Everything is in packs': This CEO blew the lid off a $2,500 'scam' at supermarkets!

Has this guy never heard of a freezer? As a person living alone it is much more expensive to buy just enough meat for 1 meal instead of buying enough for several meals & then freezing what you don't need for that night/day. When I see any meat on special I buy what I can afford that week, pack...

Cole’s ‘controversial’ change you need to know

Even if I only want a couple of items I use a trolley. Baskets are too awkward & heavy for me to use even for a small shop. I have even resorted to putting my shopping in MY bag when I only need a few things, then putting them on the checkout roller ready for the operator to put back in my...

‘I felt she was picking on me’: Why one shopper’s routine purchase turned into a nightmare

So as seniors who may have difficulty getting to the shops at times, we can now not have our aged care worker do our shopping & use our cards at the checkout? It's our goods, our cost so why nor our store benefit cards? During Covid I had a friend who was not able to do her own shopping due...

Secret video exposes $59 taxi scam, warning for Aussie passengers

You beat me to it. I was about to say that most of these drivers are foreigners, many without current visas, who are just trying to get as much money out of us as they can so they can continue to live here & send money back overseas to support their families. I will not get in a taxi if the...

'That's a lot of breathing space taken': Driver laments over inaccurate parking fine

Since the enforcement officers need to be able to safely & easily read the date on the permit, that says that it MUST be placed on the left hand side of the vehicle. I agree this is a problem for many drivers (including myself) as that is a long way from where the driver is sitting in many cars...

Fines soar to $30 million as Australia cracks down on mobile phone while driving—are you next?

Why do you find it necessary to keep rehshing old rules? This rule has been in place for a number of years now & has been on news bulletins regularly over that time, so why dos SDC find it necessary to make a big deal out of it? Everyone knows the rule. Some choose to ignore it just like some...
